According to new research, a simple 15-minute home test could determine whether or not a person is suffering from the early stages of Alzheimer’s disease. The test, which can be taken online or away from the computer, is said to test language ability, reasoning, problem solving skills and memory.
The Dementia Community Roadshow is to start its journey across the country, spreading awareness and information about a condition that affects hundreds of thousands of people in the country.
The government has signalled that there must be a contingency plan for the National Dementia Strategy to be continued beyond 2014, explaining that more must be done to improve levels of residential care – as well as other forms of care – which are aimed at helping those affected cope with the condition.
