Letters of Thanks
We love to hear from family members and friends about their experiences of life at one of our homes. How they feel about our home, the care we provide and the team that make that possible.
Knowing the ways in which we have made a difference and touched the lives of those in our care – and their loved ones – is what keeps us focused on delivering the highest standard of care at all times.

Dear Karen,
I spoke to Dionne a few days ago to thank you for all the lovely flowers, but I am writing now to the same sort of thing to everyone at Claremont Court for the wonderful care Ivy received during her residence: it never faltered despite her deteriorating health.
Sincerely,
Norman Collings

Dear Karen, Nimmy, Dionne and the Claremont team,
I now have the time to reflect and relay a sincere thank you to you all for David’s care since 2012.
David was always treated with respect, dignity and love.
Remembering the fun times with the various birthday parties, singing, dancing and tapping to the music. The Summer Fayres once with inclement weather including a donkey where we all retreated inside. Various activities and outings organised. Afternoon teas with delicious cakes. The pop-up tea & coffee shops. The cheese and wine quizzes for relatives to test their brain power. The housekeeping at the highest standard.
All this above and beyond the day to day care, nursing and feeding which is no mean feat. It broke our hearts in the beginning but throughout the years we strove together to give David the best quality of life that was possible.
He is now at peace and we shall be eternally grateful to you all for guiding us through a difficult time in our lives.
Yours sincerely,
Angela and family

To Karen & all the staff at Claremont Court,
We wanted to say a huge thank you for looking after Dad so well.
Thank you for being so welcoming, so friendly, so kind and caring throughout his 7-year stay.
Everyone always made us, our family and friends feel very welcome whenever we came to visit. It was lovely to enjoy the sunny afternoons outside, the music, the parties, the delicious birthday cakes & all the entertainment you provided.
Thank you for the care & patience you showed him, keeping him looking smart with haircuts & personal care.
You all really made a very hard situation easier at every point with your smiles and kindness.
Claremont Court really is a special place & it is the staff that make it so. We are so grateful we found you to help give our Dad a good quality of life he deserved.
We shall miss our routine of coming to visit, but please keep up your amazing work as it really means so much.

It seems incredible that it was a year ago today that I was so distressed that my mum, Margaret, moved into QEP nursing home.
She is an amazing woman who has endured so much but is now able to enjoy some of her hobbies again and be adventurous enough to pet any reptile or animal or even go ice-skating.
My time with her is precious and now that I am not her main carer, I can be a daughter again and we can enjoy each other’s company, and yours.
I cannot thank the whole team enough for the care, compassion and friendship to mum and myself.
With much love and appreciation,
Carolyn, Gary & Suki

To all the staff working on the ground floor,
Now that mum (Doreen) has moved to the first floor, I wanted to express my gratitude to everyone for making mum’s three years (where does the time go?!) with you so enjoyable.
I will always remember the care you gave her and the interest you showed.
Mum couldn’t haven’t been in a better place at this stage of her life. I hope to see you around the home – perhaps at the activities which mum loves so much.
Best wishes,
Sarah (Doreen’s daughter)

All my guests that have visited me here have very much enjoyed the hospitality and the food you have provided.
My family has been greatly reassured by the attention that I have been receiving.
Long may it last!!!

Dear Rebekah and all the members of Cherry Wood Grange Care Home.
Thank you sincerely for the lovely bouquet of flowers you gave me prior to Peter’s funeral. They were very much appreciated and admired by all the family.
Peter’s funeral went off as planned, many family members, friend and neighbours attended.
Thankfully the weather was cold but not wet, all your kind words and care made us warm within and we felt that we had given Peter a deserving send off.
Nothing was too much trouble for you when making Peter comfortable. The ‘Care Home’ was his ‘home’ and he wished to eventually end his earth life there.
Thanking you all again for your great kindness, patience, and tolerance, it meant so much to us especially over the latter part of Peter’s long illness.
With our love and eternal thanks.
God bless you all,

Dear Karen and all the staff at Claremont.
Thank you for the flowers that I received on Saturday, they were beautiful.
This is not an easy letter to write following the passing of my husband Michael, but I just wanted to thank all of you that have looked after him and cared for him over the past 2 ½ years.
The care and attention you have given to give has been exception. For this I will be eternally grateful. The hardest decision I had to make about moving Michael into a care home was made so much easier as you always treated him with dignity and respect.
I would like to thank all the staff, frontline and those behind the scenes for all their hard work. For always making me feel welcome and looking out for me.
The success of the home is a credit to you all.
I will miss you all greatly. Beryl
We would also want to thank you for all that you have done for dad whilst he has been in your care. We have some very fond memories, dad going out on a trip to Brooklands, our discussions regarding his handyman skills and watching him blowing kisses to the staff when they walked past him.
We also want to say a massive thank you for going above and beyond looking after mum too as she visited dad every day. It was a great comfort knowing that you were looking out for her too.
You have at all times made all of us feel welcome and your availability to talk to us when we have any concerns has been much appreciated.
Many thanks for everything.

Dear Karen and the team at Claremont Court
It is with great sadness that I’m writing this letter.
I would like to say a huge thank you to all those who supported and looked after my Dad, John. He arrived at Claremont Court 12th December 2016, almost three years ago.
From the outset he was treated with kindness and respect. It felt that this was the best place he could be. There are many names I’d like to mention. The ground floor staff made such a difference to Dad’s daily existence, with their remarkable patience and understanding.
I really appreciated the fact that as well as the excellent care for Dad, I was made to feel welcome and, especially latterly, it was the generosity from the care staff that made my visits less lonely, troubled and sad. Updated from lovely members of the team kept me up to speed, sharing a generous smile and a kind word, they reassured me with their humanity.
I want to add a special thank you to you, Karen, and your colleague for joining us too today as we remembered and celebrated Dad’s life.
The staff at Claremont Court amount to a remarkable team.
I send heartfelt thanks from all the members of John’s family and wish best wished as you continue with your amazing work.
Warmest good wishes,
Judy C Wilson

Congratulations on being voted the Best Care Home in Bexley.

Dear Heather,
Thanks very much for you taking the time and trouble to show Simon & I around the home last week.
Although slightly damp from the dash through the rain to the home from our care, I dried out very quickly, mainly due to the warmth of the welcome. It was lovely to be greeted with a coffee & a quiz and we enjoyed making the acquaintance of some of the team (not to forget Chumley!)
It was plain from our visit that the home is not only very well provisioned from a premised point of view, but especially well from a quality of staff point of view and it had a lo0vely familial feel which I’m sure is very hard to create. Thank you very much for showing us around and answering our questions.
Yours sincerely,
Geoff Morrison

Dear Noelia and all staff,
We just wanted to write to thank all the members of staff -nursing, caring, administrative and housekeeping – who have looked after Ken so well since he moved to Water Mill House on 11th July.
We know those closest to his care developed a fondness for him as he was a man who never made a fuss, despite his poor state of health.
So, thank you all for your kindness.
With kind regards,

I just wanted to say a huge thank you on behalf of Eve’s family for all the care and nursing you gave her.
I knew we chose the right car home from her welcome card and flowers to our welcome card and flowers – so thoughtful.
So thank you, each and every one of you for the fun, celebrations, trips, hair do’s, entertainment, the love, laughter and tears,
We shall miss you all, with love and hugs.

I want to say ‘thank you’ so much to everyone who knew David during his time at Q.E.P.
I know that he felt most welcome, safe and secure. Thank you so much for all your care and kindness, your moments of laughter and moments of shared pain.
On the day he passed away I was helped by two very special people for whom words cannot express my thanks – I had dreaded that moment and they took me through it with such compassion and tenderness.
I can look back on it with warmth and no fear and for that you have my everlasting thanks.
David felt he had made friends there and the family is able to treasure that.
Your staff are worth a price beyond rubies.
Thank you so much
Bless you

Dear Karen,
As you know, our mother, Eileen Hudson, passed away peacefully at Claremont Court in the early hours of Saturday, August 3rd.
She had lived in your care for over eighteen months, and in that time, she was treated with respect and dignity, but even more importantly, with kindness and consideration.
The carers and the nurses at Claremont are so thoughtful and patient with the residents in their care, and we will be forever grateful to them for their outstanding service to Mum during the last months of her life.
In particular we would like to mention Diana, who nurse Mum on the first floor for the majority of her stay there with such understanding and sensitivity to her medical and emotional requirements and who became a friend to us as well as to Mum in that time.
We would also like to thank all the carers we met: Sushil and Zoltan, who were always so patience and responsive to her needs – and ours! Lucien and Marcella for their sense of humour and understanding, Lou and Robyn for their fond care and ability to make Mum look so good; Melda for her lovely kind manner; Aga and Jenni who were so enthusiastic and capable – the list goes on and we know that there are many others who helped Mum day and night, who we haven’t mentioned but who do a wonderful job too.
We owe a huge debt of gratitude to all the staff at Claremont and we will never forget what you and your team did to make Mum comfortable in her life’s final year and a half.
We hope our donation to the staff Christmas party will add extra sparkle to the event and that you will all raise a glass to our lovely Mum – Eileen Joan Hudson. Thank-you
With best wishes,
Kathryn, Carole and Joanne

Gina,
I have now cleared all mum’s personal possessions from her room.
I would like to place on the record my thanks for everything you and your staff have done for mum in the nearly 2 years she has been at Heathfield and particularly over this difficult period for all of us.
The support for John and I has been overwhelming.
You have some wonderful caring people working for you.
Thanks,
Dave

Dear Everyone,
The last 6 years of Roger’s life were his most challenging, but it was made easier by being part of the ‘Brooklands family’. Here he was cared for and nursed with skill, dignity, kindness & compassion.
The highlight of his day were his day were his meals; those roast dinners and lovely puddings.
You all became our friends, we could laugh and cry together, you understood our troubles and always had time to listen.
Thank you for making Brooklands such a special home for us.

Dear Nikki,
Just a note to say a very BIG THANK YOU for the lovely plants.
I will give my sister her plant when I next see her. I love flowers but it is lovely to receive something more permanent (subject of course to my gardening skills!) to remember my dad’s time at Alderwood. I know just the spot where we will plant the Clematis.
It is strange how much Alderwood was part of my life and then suddenly not at all. I do still think about some of your lovely lady residents on the 1st floor!
Despite the circumstances, I only have good memories of Alderwood itself, so thank you again for that and the beautiful plant.
With my warmest wishes for the future.

To all the wonderful Alderwood team,
A big heartfelt THANK YOU for all your kindness and compassion in caring for Chris.
I was constantly amazed by your patience, enthusiasm and sense of fun. At a difficult time I only have fond memories of Alderwood and my best decision was definitely entrusting my dad’s care to you all.
I have two regrets. Firstly that my dad did not have the opportunity to enjoy all that Alderwood has to offer in only 4 months. Secondly that you did not see more of the Chris I knew.. sociable, chatty and with a great sense of humour. At least now you can replenish your orange juice stocks!!
I could not be more pleased that my dad spent his last days in your car. Keep up the fantastic work – you really are all fantastic.
With love and warmest wished for the future.

Dear Nikki,
Now that time has passed and one can reflect on events with a little less emotion I would like to thank you once again for the tremendous input that we felt that your staff and yourself put towards the extraordinary way that you accompanied our mother these last few years .
Your definition of care is one that we could wish on everyone at the end of their lives …there are no words to describe your heartfelt care and love that you bestowed on Marie.
I have thanked you for many things but I forgot one important aspect …..
Isabel and I would like to thank you for the superb Wake or “Celebration of life “Reception ” that you organised with your staff for us .I must admit that you certainly went out of your way to make this a very memorable occasion .. It allowed us to reunite everyone who was so important to our mother, and all the family that had come from abroad to converse with the staff who had been so important to our mother these last few years. I think that it most important that the family can mix with the staff Many of the people present at the Wake rang us later to say how fantastic it was to be able to celebrate our mother’s life is such a way … As the Rt. Revd Thomas Mc Mahon, Bishop Emeritus of Brentwood ,who officiated at our mother’s Funeral , told you as he said goodbye on leaving the Care Home after attending the Wake ” I wish all Care Homes would organise this type of Reception … I have attended many Funerals over the years but I have never before seen a Care Home organise this kind of caring and warm hearted Wake … absolutely fantastic!!”

Dear Heather,
I just wanted to write on behalf of all the family to thank you for the care given to my mother in her final days.
Janet Drake was admitted to the first floor on 11th June 2019 for palliative care and died on 23rd June.
Thank you to the nurses, carers, cleaners and other staff who came into contact with us. For the care, compassion, respect and kindness show to all the family, but especially mum. It helped us enormously to know that she was so well looked after.
Queen Elizabeth Park is clearly an exceptional place to work; the staff would not be as cheerful and helpful if not.
I worked in Cardiology in both the NHS and private sector for forty years and know the value of team work and great leadership.
So thank you again from all of us.
Best wishes to you all

Dear Karen and all at Claremont,
It is with much sadness that I write this. I want to thank you and everyone involved in Christa’s life for the last three years. It is hard to put into words what your support and the care, affection and understanding you all showed Christa meant to me and my family.
From my first visit to Claremont, on my “rounds” of looking at numerous care homes, more than a year before I finally had to accept that I could no longer give Christa the care she need to her last days, you supported me. Through the care your provided, I no longer had to focus on her day-to-day safety and practical needs but had the emotional energy to be able to learn to love, communicate and relate to Christa in a completely new way, as her “normal” capacity to communicate and comprehend appeared lost. It allowed us to have such a pure relationship, lived “in the moment”, without regard to past or future. It was so special.
To all of you, from office to care staff and housekeeping to catering and activities, my heartfelt thanks. Christa loved the way Lucian would speak and joke with her in German, how he played her German folk songs, and how his upbeat approach would have Christa accept whatever was needed. How Diana stroked her, and Marcella put her arm around her, how Kim’s irrepressible cheerfulness would lift her, how Sushil made us many a coffee and brought us cake, how she lit up when Robyn call her “darling” and Emma encouraged her to sing and dance.
These are just small instances of your work, work that goes much deeper and is much more complex. There are too many names to mention, but I think of everyone of you who made such a difference.
In caring for Christa, you also care for me. And always with a smile! If there was a query or a concern, you dealt with it sympathetically and constructively. You are all brilliant, Thank you so much.
I now have to let Christa go and let her rest in peace. It is hard. I will miss Claremont, it is not a frightening or sad place but a positive one where life, however apparently diminished, is lived with purpose. I feel a huge emotional connection with you all, who knew Christa, and send each one of you my very best wished as you continue your amazing work.

Dear Gina
It is a very sad time for us as a family with Mum passing away yesterday morning.
We wanted to say however that due to Mum’s last few weeks of life being spent at Heathfield Court we felt some sense of peace. Mum was so well supported and cared for by the staff that it eased for us greatly any concern we had for the time we spent away from her. We can’t express how grateful we are for that. Everyone we encountered was caring and not just for Mum but they took account of how we might be feeling too. From cups of tea to offers of food the staff were so kind. The cleaners and maintenance man whose name I can’t recall were thoughtful too as were the staff who brought back Mum’s laundry. We didn’t see the kitchen staff but noted what an excellent job they do too. The thoughtfulness of the activities team was wonderful too. Again I can’t remember names but Mum had a singer visit her in her room and I understand that because she was very sleepy the staff recorded the song to play to her another time. That was incredibly thoughtful. Mum may have had few wakeful moments but we are sure she knew and appreciated what was going on around her.
The GPs we saw were very compassionate and we are grateful too for their support and care of Mum.
I must give particular mention to the staff who did Mum’s personal care and who showed such care and compassion and who maintained Mum’s dignity always. It is such a difficult job at times especially with Mum who was in pain when being moved due to her wounds but we often heard her thank the staff afterwards and they managed those difficult tasks superbly.
A further special mention goes to the nursing team. I am afraid I don’t remember all of the names but Eunice Hope and Lilian were so reassuring, calm and professional and always available to answer our questions. Other nurses and night staff were kind and helpful and we can’t express our thanks to the nursing team. Without exception and from walking through the door at Heathfield Court the atmosphere was one of peacefulness but with an abundance of smiling faces.
You lead a most fantastic team and every one of them has our heartfelt thanks for their care and support to our wonderful Mum.
With kindest regards
Sharon Bradford

Dear Gina
I just wanted to send a short note on behalf of the family to thank you for the lovely flowers received from Heathfield Court for Mum’s funeral. This was such a considerate thought. We were also very pleased to see a staff member at the church service especially as she had some recollections of Mum that made us smile.
It was such a sad day for us but we were very fortunate to have support from friends and family.
Once again we send our most sincere thanks to you all at Heathfield Court.

Dear June
I hope you’re well. I don’t know if you remember me – I’m Steph, Margaret Debere’s daughter. Mum was with you three years ago. As it was this time of year that she arrived, I paid a spontaneous visit to Bridge House yesterday. I was sorry to have missed you, but wanted to let you know that I was blown away by the warm, kind welcome I received from the staff I met – both those who knew me and people who have joined since Mum died. It was an utterly supportive and welcoming environment, for which I was very grateful. In particular, Clive, Chantelle and Michael were so friendly and all encouraged me to come back as much as I need, and Sonia, whom I hadn’t met before, was very kind and gave me a much-needed hug when I explained who I was and asked to go into the garden. It was lovely to find Mum’s picture still on the wall in the memory tree (dancing with you at the Queen’s birthday tea!) and so precious to be in a space very close to her and without any of the clamour of daily life.
I also wanted to say many congratulations on the earning your Ofsted Outstanding rating. This entirely reflects our (continuing) experience with you and is very well deserved. You must be so proud. I would love to come back again soon and hope to see you again you next time. In the meantime, thank you again for all you have done for Mum and our family, and good luck with your fantastic work.
Very best wishes,
Steph

We would like to say a huge thank you to all the wonderful and dedicated staff at Queen Elizabeth Park Care Home. You all made Irene Slack’s last two years very happy and in turn comforted us, knowing she was in such safe and caring hands.
You have all made our visits to see Irene very enjoyable, supplying us with cakes and coffee, tea and biscuits and the occasional beautifully cooked meal.
Thank you so much for your kindness, especially in her last few days.
The flowers too were a wonderful surprise and gratefully received. Irene’s funeral has been arranged for May 10th at 11.15 at Guildford Crematorium, if any of you can be there we would welcome you.
Fondest love and thanks.

To Gina and Staff
Thank you all so much for everything you did for Irene over the past fifteen months. Irene has been happy and enjoyed her time at Heathfield and as a family we have been happy too that she has been in such a caring and comfortable environment. Irene thought all the staff were lovely and they have always been very pleasant and courteous to us. We wish you all well and would have no hesitation in recommending Heathfield if ever asked.
Kindest regards

Dear Karen
I will miss all the friends I have made over the past 14 months – staff, residents and relatives.
Claremont couldn’t have been a better place for Bob to live. I think he was happy even though you called it contented. The Carers and particularly his nominated ones were more than good, they were excellent and couldn’t have done more for Bob (and for me).
Many times you must have been in despair when I was getting more and more unhappy. But you all worked your charm until I was able to visit happily.
Many thanks and continue your good work.
Love Janet

Dear Dionne
I expect you were responsible for sending the magnificent bouquet of flowers. I do enjoy flowers and when I look at them I immediately feel brighter.
I think you and the staff at Claremont treated Bob really well and made his difficult life as pleasant and comfortable as possible.
Thank you
Thank you so much

Dear Staff at Ashbrook Court
You made the last months of our Dads life comfortable, safe and meaningful considering how much valuable independence his illness and stroke ripped away from him. We as human beings deserve to have our basic needs preserved such as food, warmth, cleanliness and comfort. As nurses it is our role to ensure these are met for the sake of dignity and identity.
Being elderly sometimes attaches a label that ignores who we have been and what we have contributed as a younger person.
During my Dads time with you I, as a nurse, instinctively listened and observed the kindest and thoughtful way you communicated and interacted with dad and others who find themselves at Ashbrook Court. Your jobs are not the easiest but you managed to always give a smile, hold his hand and make him smile.
The Ives children, their children and their children thank the Ashbrook Care Home Staff for looking after a very special person – Malcolm Ives, our Dad, Our Grandad and Our Great Grandad.
Thank you

Dear Everyone at Ashbrook Court Care Home
We just wanted to say a massive thank you to everyone at Ashbrook who was involved with caring for Alfred.
Some of you we knew really well but I am sure there are many more that we didn’t meet regularly, so we are sending our heartfelt thanks for all you did for our much loved Husband and Dad.
Love and best wishes to you all from Paul, Christine and Barbara Hayward and Family

Dear Heather and Sue
I wanted to take a few moments to thank you and all your team at QEP who looked after Dad over the last year. The transition from independent living to a care and latterly a nursing environment is not easy step for anyone, particularly perhaps someone as independent and proud as Dad.
Dad never wanted to leave QEP and resisted any suggestion that we move him either closer to his former home or to us. That perhaps speaks volumes for the care you provided.
I am hesitant to mention any names in particular, for fear of leaving anyone out, but Peter, Sarah and Helen and latterly Pratima, Suwan, Elena, together with Karol and Marek all stood out for us, each in their own particular way.
I hope you will pass on our grateful thanks to all who had a hand in Dad’s care.
Turning to formalities – Dad died just after 8 pm on 9th March 2019 and Simon (my brother) and his family cleared Dad’s room the following day. I returned some miscellaneous items on the Monday and have since arranged for BT to cancel the line to Dad’s room. I have not as yet spoken to anyone from CHC re funding, but no doubt you will have already done that. I have completed the ‘Tell us Once’ procedure.
Please do let me know if there is anything further that you need me to do.
Finally if there are any outstanding sundry expenses to me settled, please do send me the invoice. After that would you be kind and removed us from your mailing list.
As I mentioned to you Heather when we popped back in, Dad’s Thanksgiving Service is to be on Wednesday 20th at 12 noon at All Saints Crondall.
Kind regards
Charles Row

On being asked what my mother thought about moving to Alderwood, she replied “I couldn’t think of anything nicer.” When she did eventually move in with you, it was a tremendous relief to know that she was safe and cared for, that she was going to have fun and be entertained and amused, and to be respected for who she was.
It’s a tremendously difficult job you all do and so I thank you, Nikki, for overseeing such a fantastic group of dedicated staff and for instilling such a positive, fun and respectful culture.
With love and very best wishes,
Adrian

Dear Nikki and all the wonderful staff at Alderwood
I’m sorry I’ve left it so late to write and thank you myself for all the wonderful care you gave to Angela during the last few years of her life. I think it was 2011 when she first came to stay with you for a week, just to see what living with you would be like. At the time I thought that she would prefer to stay in her own home but on being asked what she thought about moving to Alderwood she replied “I couldn’t think of anything nicer!”
And so, when she did eventually move to live with you, it was a tremendous relief to know that she was safe and cared for, that she was going to have fun and be entertained and amused, and to be respected for who she was. And, as the years passed by and her dementia sucked away her personality, that care and respect was maintained, right through to her last breath.
It’s a tremendously difficult job you all do and so I thank you Nikki for overseeing such a fantastic group of dedicated staff and for instilling such a positive, fun and respectful culture. Of course, we’re outraged that we mow seem to be missing a pair of her knickers but in the circumstances, I think we can let that pass!
With love and very best wishes.

Thank you for the wonderful care Mum received at Acorn Court. The moment we walked into Acorn Court and Monica showed us around we knew it would be the right place for Mum.
It was a difficult decision to move Mum into a care home and we were apprehensive, but we couldn’t have found a better place for her. From the time she arrived the care and compassion given to her was exceptional. Mum was frightened to get out of bed following a fall in her flat, the Carers were patient with her and nothing was too much trouble.
She enjoyed talking with all members of staff about her children, our Dad and her life. Sometimes when I visited her, I could hear laughter coming from her room, she was enjoying a conversation with a Carer.
She knew she wasn’t in her flat, but never thought she was in a care home and often asked us to get her some shopping or some sausages out of the freezer.
I am going to miss my visits to Acorn Court, whenever I walked through the door, I was greeted with a smile and a chat by all members of staff.
Once again thank you to everyone at Acorn Court for taking care of Mum.

The Abingdon Surgery has been collaborating with Bridge House for one year. This had led to improve communication between clinical staff and greater continuity for care for patients. Bridge House nursing staff are very responsive to patient’s needs and liaise effectively with medical staff at the surgery to optimise patient outcomes. It is very pleasing to hear that Bridge House has achieved an ‘Outstanding’ rating at recent CQC inspection.

A huge thank you goes out to Acorn Court and especially the people allocated to look after Maggie (Young) for all the kindness and professionalism shown to her and her two families during a year of such difficulty for her loved one, and particularly during her last few weeks of life.
We cannot express how wonderful you all were, kindly bringing her in for baths which made our situation at home so much easier, then taking her in as one for the Acorn family when we could longer cope.
With our grateful thanks, and keep up the good work – others will surely benefit from your continued help and dedication.

Dear June, Sybill and all at Bridge House
This is to say thank you from all the family for everything you did for Gillian over the past few years.
She was made welcome from the moment she arrived for her first respite break almost four years ago, thanks to your kindness and wonderful care, she felt happy and cherished until the end.
We are so grateful that she was so well looked after and that you all took the trouble to talk to us honestly and listen as she declined enabling her to have a good and peaceful death and for our family – and dog – to spend quality time with her in her in her last days.
We were blessed in having Bridge House as Gillian’s last home, thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
The Griffith’s Family.

To all the Staff at QEP, particularly those who cared for Tom
Thank you so much for caring for Tom as if he was one of your own loved ones. You all treated him with such dignity and respect. You made the process so much more bearable for Tom and us. He could not have been in better and safer hands and we can never thank you enough. We will miss seeing you and the residents on a regular basis and we will never forget the last week spent with you all by Tom’s side. You are all incredibly wonderful human beings.
We will be in touch to let you know the details of the funeral. We hope our little gift helps you all take good care of yourselves.

To whom it may concern
Re Sabina Haskett
Tonight we attended the care home where Sabina was on duty, to attend a patient with breathing difficulties. Sabina met us at the door and provided us with a very thorough handover of the patient. Sabina recognised that he was extremely unwell and called 999 as well as her manager. Sabina was very calm under pressure and had excellent knowledge of the patient’s history. She was a pleasure to work with and a credit to her employer and resident.
Thank you

Dear Karen and Everyone who works at Claremont Court
I would just like to say a very big thank you to you all for everything you did for Gerry to ensure he received all the care and support he so badly needed and for making him so happy. He really did enjoy his time with you.
I especially want to thank you Karen for giving Gerry a chance when no-one else would.
Not only did the home look after Gerry, it was a lifeline to me. I was always made so welcome and made new friends with the other relatives visiting their loved ones. It just felt like one big happy family. I know I will feel a big loss not visiting.
I would also like to thank the Entertainment side for all they did to stimulate everyone. We had some great times and luckily I have lots of photos and videos I can keep looking at.
Thank you also for all the lovely messages everyone sent me. They were such a comfort.
I will miss Gerry so much but at least I know he is at peace now and hopefully has all his memories back.
Keep up all the wonderful work you do for everyone at Claremont and thank you again for what you did for Gerry and myself.
Take care

Well what I can say to our lovely, amazing, caring, compassionate wonderful ABI team.
There are not enough words to express how much we appreciate all your lovely care you gave to our most wonderful Steve!
Terry and I truly believe that we managed to share Steve with you, our second family, for a few more years only because of the care and devotion you showered on him. We will be forever grateful to each and every one of you.
It will take time for us all to adjust to life with our hardworking, family man that was our amazing Steve.
We would really appreciate it if as many of you are possible could attend Steve’s funeral as I know that is what Steve would want and it would help Terry and I if his second family could be there on his last journey.
You will always be our family and we will be popping in all the time. Pat you have the most amazing team ever!!!!!
Our love and best wishes

Dear Jacky and the wonderful team at The Spinney
We can’t thank you enough for the outstanding care you gave to our mum, Doreen (‘Little Door’ as you called her) and for making her final years as happy and comfortable as possible. The Spinney was the perfect location for her, being opposite the golf course she and my dad used to play on, by the forest her and my dad loved, near the homes of her late friends and close to The Queen Elizabeth Hunting lodge where our parents volunteered for many years. We could not have chosen anywhere better for her, the spotless and pleasant rooms, the fabulous food – She loved Sue! – The Bistro, the amazing Andrea who took her for her final outing and everyone should be mentioned by name for their acts of kindness but there is just not space! But Thank you for everything you did for my mum and continue to do for other residents. The HUGEST THANK YOU to you all, you are all amazing! Much love and Gratitude from Yvonne and Keith Royds and family.’
Well done everybody, you’re all so so so fab xxxx

Good afternoon Carebase! You haven’t heard from me in a while but I feel the need to share this with you about your amazing staff! My mum Shirley is a resident at Brooklands and at the moment Mum is not so great but comfortable and being looked after very well! I tend to get very low at this time of year I struggle with Christmas and Mum being in care, today I had a meltdown tears flowed and flowed I was an absolute mess I couldn’t stop crying! Your amazing staff went above and beyond to try and comfort me, they pulled out all the stops to help me and calm me down while still looking after Mum in a truly professional way!
I’ve thanked them from the bottom of my heart, but I cannot rest until I’ve let you know what amazing staff we have at Brooklands and to let you know your staff do an amazing job not only for the residents but the support they give us relatives too. (Naomi and Kayley )
Kind regards Tracy

Thanks for the great photo shoot on Father’s Day!
Our family are rarely all together as my sister lives overseas, so it was lovely to take pictures of everyone. The whole family including 2, 4 and 6 year olds had a wonderful afternoon. The kids especially enjoyed playing in the garden and picking daisies for Mum!
I can’t think of many care homes where such a range of ages and people could happily while away an afternoon.
Thank you!

Hi Bramley!
I’m one of Arthur’s nieces and although I only had the privilege of visiting Bramley twice, we could feel the love.
It has been reassuring to know how well Uncle Arthur has been cared for, with such personalised care. Despite my sadness that two members of my family have suffered with dementia, without carers of the obviously high calibre you have, my cousins and myself would be unable to continue with life as we have.
Arthur has been treated by all the team as they would care for their own relatives and that is the greatest accolade any of us can give a care home family in this day and age. We will remain friends of your Facebook page, as it feels as though we have been able to be part of the wider Bramley family even at a distance. “Thank you” seems hardly enough but we are very grateful to each and every one of your staff xxx

Dear all,
What a fantastic ‘do’ it was on Saturday at he Latino Summer Party. Please pass on our thanks to all members of the team.
Mum thoroughly enjoyed herself and so did her friends and other family members. It was certainly an afternoon filled with sunshine and lots of laughter.
The BBQ was delicious – thanks to the chef who was also very convivial and cheery. We also noticed how busy Cat was kept behind the bar on such a perfect day for Pimms!
All the girls looked fab in their Mexican outfits and it was lovely to see so many residents having fun, enjoying the lively music and dancing with the members of the team.
The garden was decorated beautifully and the tissue paper flowers looked amazing … what a lot of work and time they must have taken.
The afternoon was a huge success, enjoyed by all. Thank you all once again. Your hard work is truly appreciated.
Kind regards

Thank you also for the lovely wake you organised for us Nikki. It really was lovely to come back and see the tables all beautifully laid out, the food and flowers all looking so lovely.

I just wanted to say a big thank you to all at Heathfield for the exceptional care they are providing to my Mum.
A couple of weeks ago, Mum was taken to A&E with a chest infection. The doctor who treated Mum said that the paperwork provided by theh home was the best that she had seen. This together with the fact that they had picked up the infection so quickly meant they were confident enough to send Mum home to be treated instead of keeping her in hospital. I am sure that Mum has recovered from the infection much quicker as a result of this.
The ambulance crew who brought Mum back to the home told us that Heathfield is the best care home in the area, not just for the home itself, but from the perspective of the team and the care they provide.
Thank you

To All At Claremont,
It was Mum’s 100th birthday last Saturday 21st July as you know. We had made plans to mark the day with a special family party and I had spoken to Dionne and the Lifestyles team about what arrangements would be made. We had agreed that too many people together would be overwhelming for Mum so we decided upon a small family lunch followed by afternoon tea and birthday cake when our cousins would arrive too.
Your lifestyles team did a sterling job preparing the family room with banners and setting the tables outside so that we could take food and drink into the garden since it was such a warm, sunny day.
Mum was happy and smiling when we arrived in the morning and enjoyed some photo sessions with us, her three daughters, our husbands and her grandchildren. Many thanks to her carers and nurses, and everyone else who helped to make her look so smart (with a new hair do!) and lovely for the day.
Lunch was delicious and just right – with the hot weather a buffet was perfect.
Our cousins arrived for afternoon tea and birthday cake – Special thanks to your chef who prepared a beautiful cake that was large enough for our party plus everyone else at Claremont too – It was superb. Mum managed to blow her candles out with a little help (!) and then happily tucked into a helping herself.
We were very lucky to have such a glorious day to celebrate Mum’s big birthday. When she moved to Claremont in January with a broken arm and suffering from severe depression due to the loss of our father last December we did not think Mum would be able to reach this milestone. Claremont has provided her with a friendly, understanding, caring environment which has given her the strength to keep going supported by the kindness that you all provide.
On behalf of Mum’s family, we thank you for that care and kindness you have all shown.
Best wishes

Dear Monica
Thank you for the superb care Dad has received at Acorn. You have built such a strong team with so many skills that since the day Dad arrived three and a half years ago the care has been exemplary.
At each stage of his illness your team made his life as good as it could be. When his sight got worse you supplied a huge TV so he could escape into different worlds. The amazing food was adapted as his ability to swallow diminished.
But more than that you were simply stunning in your support of Mum, almost blind, who visited twice a week. So many people supported her and made her visits easier.
So many superb team members, so many skills, so much love in the care. ‘Thank you’ seems inadequate for everything you and your team have given.
It is very hard to care for a person who is easy going – but you all cared for Dad in an exemplary way even though he has never been an easy person.
Thank you

Dear Heather
Thank you and everyone at Queen Elizabeth Park for the very thoughful and beautiful rose bush. It will have pride of place in my garden and will always be a remembrance of both my father and his time at your home.
In searching for a care home for my father, I will always be pleased to have found Queen Elizabeth Park.
Knowing that I was no longer able to provide my father with the day to day care that his condition required and given the various scare stories that the press seem to regale the general public with on the quality of care provided in care homes, it was very reassuring to see the high quality of care my father received during his time at Queen Elizabeth Park. I have on many occasions mentioned the home by name and the fantastic resources and high level of care the residents enjoy.
I was fortunate in my business and personal circumstances to be able to visit my father on a regular basis and so it was easy to see the quality of care that he received and made me realise what a fantastic job that your care team does – something I could not have managed if his care had been left to me.
Finally thank you and everybody at Queen Elizabeth Park once again for what you all did and do best; looking after my father in his final years.
Kind regards

To the first floor team
I am writing to thank you very much for the highly-professional, but above all kind and loving way in which you looked after my father during the two years that he was with you. He felt safe, supported, comfortable and happy in your care and I was totally confident that he was receiving the best possible support. None of you were ever too busy to attend to his needs, listen to his concerns or simply to spend some time with him, and any questions that I had were promptly and thoroughly dealt with.
You create a calm and positive atmosphere on the floor; team member were clearly ‘about their business’ at all times, but were always ready to smile and chat. Dad’s personal hygiene was always scrupulously attended to, as was the general cleanliness of his room, the dining areas and the corridors.
I would have no hesitation in recommended Queen Elizabeth Park to friends.
With all good wishes

Dear Heather and all at QEP
Thank you so much for the beautiful flowers you sent me in memory of dad and I was deeply touched.
Thank you also for the outstanding care and loving support that both Dad and I have received during the last two years. You and all the team could not have been kinder or more attentive. I felt that I only had to ask for anything that Dad needed or wanted and your would do your best to provide it. You made his last years as comfortable, happy and fulfilled as they could possibly have been and I know that he, like me, was very fond of you all.
With love

My mother has been in the care of Bramley Court Care home for around 14 months and it was the best thing that could happen to her!
At home she was not coping, could not dress herself, was timid and kept falling. Like any daughter I was terrified of her going into a home and the consequences it may bring, but since being in their care she has become a stronger happier person all round. She openly admits she loves all the team! I cannot praise them all enough for their wonderful, kind, compassionate care of my mother, alongside the lovely environment they work so hard to achieve for the residents trying to ensure that its the closest thing to home they can provide.
It’s an amazing care home with an amazing team!

To all the team at The Spinney
I just want to say a ‘thank you’ to each and every one of you for the care you gave Mum and the years she spent with you.
Despite her illness you all treated her as the person she was and helped maintain her dignity to the end. She mattered as an individual to you all and that helped us cope with the sadness we all felt. As a family we always felt supported by you all.

My husband was 46 years old with end-stage brain cancer when we made the heartbreaking decision to move him into a nursing home.
From the moment we arrived at Cherry Wood Grange we felt at “home” and I always felt my husband was being cared for to the highest of standards by the wonderful team. Every day the team treated him with dignity and respect, but more importantly love and kindness.
Cherry Wood Grange is built and furnished to an exceptional standard and as a resident or family member, you could not want for more. The food is prepared to a very high quality and would not be out of place in a high-end restaurant. There are daily activity sessions for all to get involved with, even the visitors!!
But in all honesty, it is the team that truly makes Cherry Wood Grange the amazing care home that it is.
Without hesitation, I would highly recommend Cherry Wood Grange to any of my family and friends.

To all the team that cared for Brian
Words seem inadequate to express my thnaks to every one of you for the outstanding care, love and kindness you have shown to Brian over the past nine years. He was always made to feel special and looked upon Queen Elizabeth Park as his home and you as his extended family. You have supported both of us with compassion and understanding through some very difficult times as Brian’s dementia progressed and for that we are extremley grateful.
I have so many happy memories of Brian’s time at your home. It was such a comfort to me to know that he was left in your caring hands and was always given the best possible quality of life. Nothing was ever too much trouble for you and Brian was always treated with the utmost kindness and respect. He was happy and relaxed amongst his friends at Queen Elizabeth Park and in his last days, as you made him comfortable, his smile and whisper of ‘thank you’ said it all.
Thank you all for the friendship and support you have given me. Whenever I visited I was always welcomed and greeted with a friendly smile and cheery word. When times were bad, you were there for me with words of encouragement and that all-important cup of tea. At Brian’s end, I felt enveloped in your love. I miss you so much.
It takes a very special kind of person to do this work, dedicated and with a heart of gold. In my eyes you are all unsung heroes and I will never forget you.
God bless you all

My father-in-law was diagnosed with dementia some years ago and when he lost his beloved wife, his world started to crumble. He lived a long way from family and although he had wonderful support from neighbours, he was confused, lonely, frustrated and sad. He gradually deteriorated and stopped eating properly, his personal care was poor and he became extremely vulnerable.
However, when we arrived at Cherry Wood the welcome could not have been warmer! Every member of the team was delightful and this has been true thereafter – they are kind, thoughtful and caring and the entertainments team are energetic and inventive. The food is delicious and the décor and atmosphere is literally home from home.
My father-in-law settled immediately, made lots of new friends and now his days are happily spent in the company of others, with great food, wonderful care and fun things to do. He is a changed person; the lonely, sad and vulnerable man has become a happy, outgoing, social gentleman. It is truly a joy to see.

The most important aspect of Bramley to us is that our dear Dad is finally thriving now he is in the right place. The team all chips in, everyone is so helpful. The affection they show is so natural, the management must be excellent at recruiting the right people. We are very grateful to Bramley for all they are doing. There is clearly no hierarchy of residents, all are considered equal, regardless of their faculties, which I believe is extremely important.
Thank you.

Dear Heather
I wanted to write to express my thanks to all the team at Queen Elizabeth Park for the superb care they have given to my father over the past nine years. They have been with us through every step pf the way through Dad’s battle with dementia, always on hand to answer our questions, reassure us and offer support.
Coming in to see Dad at your home at the weekend has become such a part of our lives that it seems very strange not to be sitting with him watching the rugby or the snooker over a tea and biscuit, or sharing lunch with his favourite ice-cream. All the carers and nurses have been so kind, thoughtful and helpful throughout his time with you. They have all been like family to usand we wil miss them all very much.
It has always been such a huge consolation to know that all the team who cared for Dad were always there with a kind word of comfort for him at the times when we weren’t able to be there. I wanted to write to thank everyone, but to be honest there are simply no words that could possibly fully express the gratitude and thanks we all feel for the job you do. I will never forget any of you, or the work you do. It is simply priceless, in the true sense of the word.
With all our thanks and love

Dear Heather
We wanted to thank you and all the team at Queen Elizabeth Park for the care that you gave Elizabeth during her time with you. We were repeatedly impressedby all the activities going on in the home, and the thoughtfulness with which the team seemed to notice her individual needs and responded to them. The are many aspects of the home that make it such an exceptional place, but more than anything we appreciated the committment of the team to providing a kind, caring and stimulting environment, and their willingness to go the extra mile.
In the last week of Elizabeth’s life we were very touched by the kindess of the team, not just to her, but also to us at such a difficult time. The team members who greeted her so warmly on her first day were there with us right until the end. This consistency and personal approach means so much.
Thank you all – it’s not an easy job, but you do it really well.
With best wishes

I did not want to leave my bungalow in Kent even though I was finding the going rather rough. My dear wife having passed away two years ago and the shakes getting so bad that sometimes I could not even make a cup of tea in the mornings and my legs getting worse. I, at last, listened to the reason of my niece and her husband who lived in Chelmsford and had the trouble of the Dartford crossing and the M25 to contend with to visit. With no children of my own, my niece was my nearest relative and a real gold mine for assistance.
She spotted Cherry Wood being built and finally talked me into letting go and trying it. She came in and booked a room and took photographs of it to show me. I was transported one Sunday to view. Liked it and moved in on the 20th January. The best thing I have ever done for myself. The place is perfect.
Good food, good carers and within a week I was at home. The best thing I have ever done and the best place to come to. I am a fan of Cherry Wood.

Dear Karen
I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank your team on the second floor for the exceptional care and kindness they provide Mum with.
Nothing is too much trouble for them and the care they give only comes from their hearts, which is a gift not everyone has!
They cheer me up and take time for me when I’m feeling low or if Mum is having a bad day.
It is so hard for us all as relatives to accept our loved one’s conditions, but the team makes the journey easier. With their patience and hard work, I have seen Mum change from a sad, miserable soul to a happy content lady – not something she has been for many years, and this is due to the hard work of all the team at Claremont.
I have peace of mind that she is safe and well cared for, which is a load off my mind! We are so lucky that she is with you.
Kind regards

My mum was referred to Ashbrook Court Care Home for nursing care. I was impressed with the room, its cleanliness and the standard of care provided by Ashbrook. As I visited my mum quite a bit in her short time there I could see the care and attention she received was of a high standard, with the staff showing real compassion and professionalism. This was such a weight and off my mind, as my mum was very ill and sadly passed away – but the team at Ashbrook worked to make sure she was comfortable at all times and ensured her dignity in her final days.
I would like to thank the team who provided my mum and me with incredible support at this difficult time.

To all the team at Bramley Court
I have been meaning to write, but it is difficult to know where to start in thanking you for the significant difference you all made to Dad’s life during his time with you.
Like most families, I guess, Emma and I were worried about whether moving Dad to a care home was the right thing to do and whether he would be able to adjust to his new circumstances and environment. With your knowledge, expertise and unerring support, Dad not only adapted to his new environment, but her thrived in it. Before coming to you he had been in hospital for a number of weeks and it was very clear that a hospital environment did not work for him. What he got when he arrived at Bramley Court was his freedom back… his freedom to move around when he wanted, to engage when he wanted and to experience the world around him on his terms again.
It is probably fair to say that it took Emma and I longer to adjust to Dad’s new environment than it took him. It was so obvious that it was right for Dad and so Emma and I relaxed too – even getting to know many of the other residents as well as the team.
Every member of the team who supported Dad showed him the most incredible care and dignity, but they also showed Emma and me a huge amount of thoughtfulness too – all of which made the last few days with Dad ones that we can remember in a positive way – reassured that Dad was with people who genuinely care and who wanted to ensure the same things for him as we did.
So just saying ‘thank you’ feels a little inadequate. But Emma and I do thank you all so very much for everything you did.
With very best wishes
Jo Goodall

I am writing in praise and thanks for the care of my late mother who was a resident at Heathfield Court.
The decision to place our Mum into a nursing facility was a difficult and painful one to have to make when we could no longer meet her nursing and healthcare needs at home.
We had the good fortune of hearing about Heathfield Court and knew some of the management and care team. As soon as the doors were opened we moved Mum in and she was the first resident on the nursing floor.
From the moment of admission, Mum’s condition improved – she gained weight and began to say a few words, even managing a smile of recognition to one of her carers.
We have never looked back. Obviously the environment of a purpose-built new care home is conducive to good care, but we know it is the people, the leadership, and the ethos of an organisation which makes the difference.
This has certainly been in evidence throughout my Mother’s care there from the entire team. This is a team that has worked together in the pursuit of good care, and I can’t praise them highly enough. Indeed, it is hard to find the right words to express our gratitude.
As a nurse myself I found it very hard to entrust my mother to anyone else’s care, but once we had moved Mum I finally had peace of mind that she was safe and receiving the care she deserved and this became evident in her improvement.
The respect and dignified care given during the last stage of her life has left us with something priceless: an enduring final image of our Mum, beautifully dressed and cared for, pampered, at peace and looking beautiful. That image will stay with us and has helped us to recover and find peace and healing in what has been a very long and painful journey.
Heathfield Court is a home that doesn’t just care for its residents, but cares about them. You should all be proud of what you are providing at your home. We as a family are certainly forever thankful.
Kind regards
Mrs T Dabrowski

Dear all at Claremont Court
I can’t thank you enough for the care and happiness your gave Mum in the five years she lived at Claremont. All of you worked together to ensure her needs were met. When visiting Mum I often witnessed the positive interation between residents and the team.

January 25, 2018
I’d like to say how impressed I was this morning when I visited Claremont. Not only was Mum up and out of bed, but she was sitting in the lounge, in the sunshine, dressed very nicely and carefully. Time and trouble had obviously been taken in where she was sat and what she was wearing. After sitting with her for a while, I went down to her room and the bed had been made beautifully and all Mum’s soft toys had been arranged on the bed so that it looked very welcoming and cosy.
These may sound like small things when I’m sure there are much larger issues to deal with, but it was just the attention to detail that made me appreciative today.
So thank you, to all the staff involved in Mum’s care. I know that I speak for all the family in voicing my appreciation.
Best wishes
Sarah

Well managed, clean and friendly. More than anything, the team is fantastic. The care they gave my relative was exceptional, not once did I worry about her security and care.

Dear Karen,
I just wanted to write to say how wonderful your care team is.
I feel we are terribly lucky to have continuity of care with the same faces since Mum has been at Claremont and we could not ask for more. They all know mum really well and I feel very happy they understand her as a person and treat her with such kindness, dignity and respect.
I tell them often how great they are but please do pass on my thanks to them formally, if you would like to. They make such a difference.

Mum had 2 lots of respite in this home while I was on holiday and each time she came out she said: “I think I could live here”.
Mum had had numerous falls and was not taking care of herself whilst in her flat and has now been in Ashbrook Court for just over a month. She praises the food and the staff to me regularly. One of the main differences which I have noticed is that mums mobility has significantly improved and have even seen her on a couple of occasions walking quite ably without using her stick which she would never have done before. She enjoys the exercise activities in the home and walks a lot more which I put down to her increased mobility.
The manager and all other team members are very approachable and actually listen to you if you have any questions or queries. I have been there numerous times when it is meal times and I must agree with mum, the quality of food is lovely.
Mum enjoys the company as well as the activities and is brighter in herself both physically and mentally!

It was daunting to select a brand new care home for my father, but the manager allayed any concerns when we visited before it was open. First impressions were that it was a hotel rather than a care home. The décor and furnishings were homely and of a high standard. It did not have the feel of being an institution, which was a fear of my father.
All the team are friendly and show an interest in him as person. They do not rush away. He says “they are marvellous” and “can’t do enough for you – no matter what it is”. He speaks to about 20 different people each day, which is good for him and he also enjoys participating in the well-organised activities such as quizzes, news and views, playing cards and board games, seated exercises and painting “ladybird stones” for the garden.
He says that food is excellent and plentiful and I have to agree as I joined him and other residents for a lovely Christmas Dinner.
Importantly he says he feels safe.
We have hit the jackpot with Cherry Wood.

To all the team at Honey Lane
As a family we have been blown away with the exceptional care and kindness demonstrated at Honey Lane across all the team.
It is testimony not only to great leadership, but also to having the most wonderful, dedicated individuals employed to create such a fabulous environment of a genuine caring family set up.
We are very aware of the incredible hard work and challenges that you all face day-to-day and not a vocation that is necessarily well rewarded.
We wanted to show our heartfelt thanks to you all directly and to reaffirm what an amazing diference you make to people’s lives, not only to your residents, but also their immediate family who are comforted to know that they are in the best place.

Dear Torie
We want to take the opportunity to thank the whole team at Ashbrook Court for the way you looked after Edna during the most challenging and difficult time of her life.
Edna had been moved to Ashbrook from a very badly managed home. The contrast could not have been greater. We soon realised that we could have total confidence in the professional standards and the kindness and care showed by the staff towards her. This was particularly important as her ability to communicate declined and your team had to anticipate her needs and wants.
We also appreciated the sensitive support we received from everyone and want to thank you for this as well.
With very best wishes to you all,
Yours sincerely

We could not be more satisfied with the care our relative is receiving from Cherry Wood Grange.
The home is spotless, beautifully decorated, warm and friendly – all the staff are endlessly helpful and ensure we are kept up to date on our mum’s condition.
She has a lovely little garden, fenced off but accessible to the main large, well maintained outdoor area. Her room is beautifully kept and assistance is provided as she needs it, and there are always activities arranged that interest her during the day. She has a phone in her room which she uses every day and we are made very welcome whenever we visit. She is gaining weight and always looks beautifully groomed thanks to her weekly hairdressing and manicure treatments.
This is a lovely place which the whole family would heartily recommend.

A very pleasant, clean and caring environment. Always lots of team members around who are happy to talk at any time..
As a physiotherapist I see many care homes and this appears to be one of the kindest, cleanest and most caring environments I have visited. The exercise scheme is fantastic and supports our work to increase mobility and independance for residents at the home.

Thank you so very much for your care of Mike, and us as his family during his nine months with you. Mum’s problems have become increasingly apparent, and it has been reassuring to know that you have been looking after her.

Hi Nikki
Thank you so much for a wonderful tour of Alderwood. You gave my Mum such a good time and the care and individual attention was absolutely excellent. The rooms were very spacious and the direct access to the private garden space was an added bonus. We saw residents involved with lots of communal activities, or taking it easy in their own spaces and the atmosphere was very happy and settled. Lovely facilities throughout – impressive library and private dining room.
We also saw the team members who are happy, enthusiastic and working with genuine engagement.
The weekly diary of events seems excellent too and Mum could even learn Zumba! It’s good to hear how often you take residents out and that you have your own minibus, so even more trips on the horizon.
All the best again and thank you once again. Your kindness and energy has been commented on by everyone with experience of Alderwood.
Best wishes

I feel fortunate to have secured a place for our mum in Heathfield Court. The standard of care, the environment, activities, housekeeping and food are all excellent.
From the home manager and deputy, nurses, carers and the “wider team” all treat our mum and other residents with great care and respect. You have the sense that they genuinely care, not just caring for, but caring about our mum (and others).
Thank you!

From the time of our first visit to Ashbrook Court, the management and team have made every effort to make my mother and the family feel welcome and reassured. Whenever we visit, the team always seems to recognise us and say hello. Their interactions with my mother always appear to have a relaxed and familiar nature which seems to create a more comfortable relationship, rather than a resident/nurse relationship.
Myself and my family always leave there comfortable in the knowledge that mum is being looked after with care and love, and we’re very thankful.

I just wanted to write to recognise and thank you and your team for the lengths they went to in organising my mother’s 90th birthday.
The effort on the part of your team allowed my sisters and other family members to focus on spending time with my mother.
So please pass along our thanks to all the team involved in this event, and more generally in caring for my mother so well at Queen Elizabeth Park.
Yours sincerely

From the moment I walked in the door, Bramley Court felt bright and welcoming.
I’m of an age where I have visited many people in care homes but this was different. It was open and friendly – and didn’t smell of care homes If and when it comes to my turn to needing to be looked after, this is the kind of place I would choose. The team is lovely – and as an added bonus, they have a dear little Cavapoo dog who loves everybody and brightens up the lives of many of the residents. The beneficial effect of a touching a dog to health and morale are well documented.

Thank you so much to all if you for looking after Mum so marvellously whilst she was with you.
As I have said so many times before, I knew that Claremont was the right place for her. Everyone is always so welcoming and cheery! You all became my friends and I always felt so comfortable visiting Mum.

To the team at The Spinney
Thank you so much for your kindness and care during the 20 months that our late mother, Mary, lived at The Spinney. Like so many others in her position, Mum never wanted to be in residential care, but you helped her to settle and we always thought that you worked hard to meet her needs.
We always speak highly of The Spinney to anyone who asks us about the standard of care. You are patient and kind in your treatment of the residents. We never hear a cross word spoken and Mum often told us how ‘nice the girls are here’.
You do your best by vulnerable people in the most difficult times of their lives and we thank you for the support that you give to families like ourselves as well.
Thank you again,
The Foley Family

Dear Heather and team
A huge thank you to you all for making Sylvia’s birthday celebrations so special for us on Sunday. The room was perfect for the occasion and everyone had such a lovely time seeing Ma and spending quality time with her. She was so thrilled to see everyone including four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
We were so grateful for all the effort and help that we had from you all to make the day so special, for Ma and the family.
It is certainly a day we will remember and have wonderful memories to treasure, so thank you all so much.

Thank you for everyday, but especially thank you for yesterday.
It was so so good to hear Pat say she wanted to “go home” – a great testament to all of you. Such a relief to know that she was going home to be looked after and cared for.

I have been so grateful and impressed by the level of professional care my dad has received at Claremont Court.
I know my father would wish for me to pay tribute to the incredibly challenging work that the carers and nursing teams do on a daily basis when caring for those suffering from dementia. I know he would want me to extend an enormous thank you to them and to express his very great appreciation to all of them for their tireless and dedicated work and for their unstinting kindness, patience and commitment.
I have some good memories during Dad’s time with you which I will treasure. So from my mother, my later father, my brother and the rest of the family, a massive thank you to you all. I look forward to popping in to have a chat and a coffee soon.
Yours sincerely

I wanted to send NIkki and all the carers a massive thank you for the exceptional care of my mum, When we bought my mum to you we were seriously worried about how she was going health wise, but in the short time she has been with you – Wow! What a difference! When I visited Saturday with my sister just to see her on her legs was fantastic, she was clearly happy and to see her smiling again …amazing!
I know dementia can be hard work for anyone let alone dealing with many people on your wing but I watch your staff when I visit and it’s clear you make them all feel special.
A huge thank you to everyone.

We wanted to write to thank you and all the team at Alderwood who have been looking after Mary these last three months. We are so grateful for the care that Nigel received whilst he was in Claremont Court. Thank you to everyone who looked after him.

Dear Karen
We wish to express our appreciation and our sincere thanks for all you and your team did to make our mother’s life so comfortable and happy during her time at Claremont Court.
Our mother had five incredibly happy years in your care. Your team are second to none and we cannot priase them all highly enough. Their levels of patience and caring are superb.
Dementia is a dreadful disease, but the care and indeed love she received from everyone at Claremont made it infiniately more bearable for us all. She clearly always felt at home with you all.
The way you handled her last few weeks was beyond wonderful. The attention and care shown to her was fantastic, You all went the full mile to ensure that a dreadfully sad and difficult situation was less hard for us as a family to bear.
We thank you and all of your team from the bottom of our hearts. Mum was extremly comfortable, always kept beautifully, amazingly well entertained and fed and, above all, she was always allowed to maintain her dignity at all times.
Thank you all. We feel privileged to have chosen Claremont to care for our adored Mum for so long and you did so fantastically well.
With our very best wishes and most sincere thanks,
Jane and Steve

After an initial awful experience elsewhere at another care home with Dad, we were so relieved and delighted with the overall care and experience our father received at Ashbrook. He deserved the best and received it every day, the team is truly wonderful and very caring!!
Thank you all for your care and consideration shown to Dad. The nurses and carers are wonderful, they managed to get a smile out of Dad frequently, even in his last and darkest days. His dignity was maintained at all times and it always felt like they gave 100%, if/when I ever need to go into a care home in my later years I would insist on Ashbrook – that’s the biggest compliment I could possibly afford them.
Thank you to everybody who contributed to Dad’s care, you are all truly stars!
June 16, 2017
I have made some treasured acquaintances during my visits to Claremont Court, there are some lovely people there.
When I understood that mum needed to go into a care home it scared me – for me and for mum. Mum was 84, very independent and very wary of strangers. I looked at many homes around the area and decided that Claremont Court was where I would like (if it had to be a care home) my mum to see out her days – the building, the rooms, the staff I met initially , resident activities and location (close to my home) were all strong deciders. What a good choice!
You have some incredible staff and it is they who say what your care home stands for – bricks and mortar can be made to look pretty but personality, compassion and friendship can only be conveyed by genuine people, their motivations and actions. Throughout Mum’s stay she was looked after by your staff and I thank them profusely. We will be eternally grateful to each of them for making Mum’s departure and our acceptance of same so comforting.
Thank you
Gary

I had meant to write for a while to let you know how grateful we are for the professionalism, courtesy and respect shown by all your team consistently demonstrated whenever we call upeon your premises.
In recent weeks I know that families which we have served in our different capacities have been so impressed by your team. On various occasions our families have expressed how much it has meant to have known with confidence the compassion and care which you have provided to their loved ones in your care.

We have been fortunate to have been able to secure a room for our Mum in Heathfield Court.
She has been a resident in another nearby nursing home for the past three years. Sadly, as our Mum’s condition progressed and her needs increased, the nursing home could no longer meet her needs and provide the care she needed and deserved. The decision to move her was not easy – moving a frail elderly person with dementia at this stage is usually no advised. However, after excessive professional consultation a move was recommended.
Despite our anxieties about the move we are so happy to have made the move to Heathfield Court. The team made the admission go smoothly and we could see the positive effect almost immediately. The environment is excellent, well thought through with residents in mind. It is calm from the moment you walk through the door with every consideration to residents’ needs given.
However, in my experience the environment, whilst important, is secondary to the care given and the team providing it. I have been so impressed by all the team I have come into contact with, from pre-admission right through to now. It is evident that my mum is safely cared for in the hands of a professionally led, well trained and caring team. All aspects of her care are carefully planned – from the food to the bed linen, from the carers to the nurses, from the admin, housekeeping and maintenance to the activities – I feel confident that Mum is now getting the care she needs and deserves.
As an ex-nurse myself, I have high standards and expectations and on behalf of my Mum and my family we are extremely thankful to have her here and to know that in the face of this awful condition (dementia) Mum will be looked after so well.
I feel the team at Heathfield Court have been well selected and trained – this is evident in the delivery of care to my Mum and the support given to me and my family. They are a credit to the managers, who continue to be visibly setting high standards of care whilst showing that the team is valued. From my observations in the past this standard of management and leadership will ensure that Heathfield Court keeps its pledge – “exceptional care, no exceptions”.

Just to say a big thank you for Mum’s birthday party, she really enjoyed it.
Also, thank you for your support and understanding with my husband – it is much appreciated.

So a big thank you!

To all the team at Bridge House
I wanted very much to write to thank everyone at Bridge House for giving my beloved father such a happy three years living as part of the Bridge House ‘family’.
From the moment Jim decided that he wanted to move to Bridge House, his life was enhanced by his key decision. The loneliness he had sometimes felt living independently was replaced by a sense of belonging, the superb residential and nursing support he benefitted from, and the wonderful range of activities on offer to residents.
It is apparent to anyone walking into Bridge House that it is maintained beautifully and provides an extremely comfortable environment for all the residents. What is less obvious is the exceptional caring nature of the team, which my father emphasised to me so often.
My brother and I have reflected on many aspects of our father’s life – and we certainly feel that his time at Bridge House represented an extremely happy period for him. We cannot thank you all enough for your contribution to Jim’s ‘life story’ and hope that many other residents will benefit from your kindness and high standards for many years to come.
With our very best wishes

Dear June
When Marjorie came to Bridge House, she was in a very bad place, both physically and mentally. However, during her time with you she miraculously came back to life again. I know she still had many health problems, but she was cared for and happy and got back some of her incredible joy for life and I felt so relieved to know that she was safe and someone was looking after her. Lots of the old Marjorie came back. I enjoyed many visits and telephone chats with her.
As soon as I entered her room at Bridge House, I knew that all was well – her birthday cards were all around her room, her old teddy was in her arms and she was peaceful. I don’t know who put her lipstick and nail varnish on, but it was inspirational. Instead of an old sick lady, there was the beautiful Marjorie we all knew and loved.
Thank you all so much for making her time with you so happy. I expect you will say you were only doing your job; I can only say what you are doing is an extraordinary excellent job.
Again, my grateful thanks to all of you who cared for Marjorie so kindly and gave her the quality of life she deserved.
Yours sincerely

Hi Nikki
Just to say thanks for the flowers, much appreciated.
Alderwood is a wonderful care home and that’s largely down to the culture and expectations set by the Manager. Very well done! Everyone on your team has been remarkably supportive and caring throughout, to Mum, to my brother and myself.
If I may though, I’d like to give a special mention to Sarah and Sharon. Both routinely went ‘the extra mile’ and were particularly caring, kind and attentive during Mum’s last weeks.
Thank you

Dear Nikki
I just had to write and formally thank you, Julie and all the team for looking after Mum so well over the past five years. There are some very special carers working there that made a very sad, difficult situation much more bearable.
Although the past year or so has been particularly painful for Dad and I to visit Mum in the poorly state she was in, we will miss coming in there as we were aware of the enormous support we received and were grateful for it.

Sirs,
My mother came into the care of Water Mill House Care Home on 13th February. Your team received her into the home with grace and warmth and continued to show both of these for the time she was with you.

Mum has only been a resident since late last year and I’ve already emailed you to say what a fantastic home Brooklands is and how amazing your staff are.
To to be leaving mum to go on holiday is a big thing for me because at our last home it took me three and a half years to take a break . I’d just like you to know I’m so happy and pleased with the care and love my mum receives from the staff and because of this I can go away feeling happy that she is in safe caring hands. It is without doubt such a lovely friendly place to be. Your team are truly remarkable people.

Dear Karen and all the team at Claremont Court
I just wanted to thank you and everyone at Claremont for all the kindness and support shown to Mum since she moved in – the team are a credit to you, you obviously have a great interviewing technique!
The past two years have been so difficult, but to see Mum so well cared for and content has given me enormous peace of mind, which is everything. Mum now has a better social life than me! What is so nice is that we are creating memories, such as the pie contest and afternoon tea – I will have these moments to cherish for the future.
Claremont is also helping me to accept Mum’s condition and realise that residents can still have a good quality of life and haven’t been given up on. I’ll be putting my name down on the list for a room when my time comes!
We feel incredibly lucky to be able to say Mum is in such a wonderful place.
Thank you for everything,

To Dear Nikki and everyone at Alderwood
Thank you for the lovely rose that I can grow in our garden in memory of John. John told me last year how happy he was living at Alderwood. I have nothing but admiration and gratitude for the love, care and respect you have shown to John over the years.
When I describe Alderwood to other people, I tell them of a big family, to which everyone feels they belong to, as I do myself, which is the real meaning of ‘home’.
Lots of love

Dear Karen,
Everyone at Claremont Court has been so kind in caring for my mother and for me too. Moving there, even for 2 weeks, proved to be the right decision. My mother was calm, content, well looked after and stayed out of hospital; I had more time to just be with her. If only my mother had moved there earlier so that we could both have enjoyed everything for longer.
There are so many things to thank you for and so many people to thank; everyone deserves a special mention.
Thank you,

Dear Monica
We would like to thank you and all the staff for looking after Winnie so well during her two years she was at Acorn Court.
It is very hard for someone to have to leave their home, friends and the area in which they have lived all their life and suddenly to find themselves in completely new surroundings and among all new faces, especially when they are as old and frail as Winnie was.
It was not easy, but everyone at Acorn Court did all they could do to help her settle down and feel at home. She was treated with care, respect and genuine affection.
We consider Acorn Court’s greatest asset, as well as the excellent facilities, to be the kind, caring and friendly staff. Please will you give them all our grateful thanks for making Winnie’s time at the home as pleasant and comfortable as possible.
Our kindest regards to all at Acorn Court,
George and Paul Clark

Halina enjoyed exceptional care in the safe and professional hands of you and all the wonderful team members who looked after her during her time with you. Claremont Court could not have been a better place for her and we feel very blessed that we were able to have her as one of your residents.
At 88 years she has enjoyed a long life and to have been able to see her so contented, well cared for and without physical suffering in your care has helped us immensely. We were so delighted and genuinely appreciative of the kindness shown by your care team – this meant a lot to us.
Thank you for sending such a beautiful bouquet of flowers – another sign of the excellent care given by Claremont Court. The kindness you have given to Halina will not be forgotten.
Thank you again so much

Hello Maureen
I just wanted to drop you and the team at Bramley Court a personal note to say how very grateful I am for the love, care and attention you gave dad during his final months with you. His needs were sometimes complex, and I know that he could be as stubborn as a mule, and yet you managed to reach him and build a relationship with him.
It gave me great comfort during a difficult few months to know that dad had a home, never more so than when I had to fight to get him out of the other home last year. That evening, when I delivered him back into your care and I was greeted by the team waiting in the car park, was the moment when I knew that dad was in the best place he could possibly be. I will miss him – and coming in to see you all – but I am at peace knowing he is now back with Mum.
Please pass on my love and best wishes to everyone.

Thank you so much for today Heather. It was lovely to have Mum’s last tea party at QEP. It was so nicely laid out she would have been pleased and proud. Jackie and Julie were so kind making the tea, and Julie was still there when we left doing the tidying up. Please can you add them to the staff appreciation!
QEP and the staff will always have a place in my heart. You were all so kind and loving to Mum and I was completely at ease each time I left her with you, but you know that. You are all angels in my eyes.
With love and thanks

My mother was moved to Claremont Court from her care home when her health deteriorated and she needed more nursing care. During her last few weeks, she received excellent palliative care. Nursing staff took time to encourage her to eat and drink, she was bathed, and her nightwear and bedding changed daily. We could visit any time day or night and offered hot drinks. A small fully equipped kitchen was also available to us.
How we wish mum moved there earlier so she could have enjoyed as best as her health would allow, to partake in the activities and use the pleasant dining room with other residents.
We could only observe the dedication of the staff in their care of other residents all of whom suffered from dementia. Staff had time to spend with them and preserve their dignity at all times. The staff also had time to spend with us and said their care was for the relatives as well as their residents – and it showed.
Although we as a family were involved with Claremont Court for a short while, we would have no hesitation in recommending them as caring environment for those living with dementia, being looked after by staff who really care.

To the team at Alderwood
I just wanted to thank you for your kindness and compassion towards both my Mum and myself during her time with you.

In October 2015, Bob went to live at Water Mill House. After a period of unsettled anxiety, he became part of the family built there by all the team at the home. The people at Water Mill loved Bob.
He was treated with such respect and kindness that all his family owe a huge debt to them. It is difficult to imagine another group of people who can summon up such generosity of spirit in circumstances which are often so very trying. These lovely ladies and gentlemen tend to the frailties of their residents and offer open-hearted support to the families.
Through his smiles and occasional little jigs, he showed them the love and respect they deserve.

I feel the time is now right to contact you and congratulate you on how well your home Brooklands has changed my Mum’s life and mine. Mum moved to Brooklands around Oct/Nov 2016. She has been in care after a stroke since 2013.
We thought we had got her into the right place in another care home at first – how wrong we were. It was a very stressful time moving mum after almost 4years, but as a very protective daughter I would like you to know I am without doubt so happy with my Mum’s care from your lovely loving staff. Nothing is ever too much trouble and they are all so happy and kind, and professional at the same time. Your nursing team are amazing keeping me in the loop with Mum’s meditation and are always very approachable should I have any questions. Julia is a wonderful lady.
Your home made our Christmas special as well as New Year. Mum is so happy and relaxed here, it’s taken a lot of pressure off of me and that’s amazing.
All in all you have one fabulous home here and I’m grateful my mum is part of it. It’s all too often to hear criticism and it’s easy for people to complain these days rather than praise, so this is why I’m sending this email to you because Brooklands is so bloody good.
Kind regards
Tracy

Dear Heather
I would like to express my deep gratitude for everything you did to give Jim the best possible quality of life within his limitations. I will never forget how you made it possible for Jim to be accepted at QEP where he was treated with the utmost care and kindness.
On all occasions I visited him, I came away happy and comfortable in the knowledge that he couldn’t be in a better place. I am constantly aware of how fortunate we have been.
With very best wishes

To the team at Bramley Court,
A quick note to say that my aunt, Janet Owens, has just spent three years at Bramley Court in Histon, having been cared for by both the general and dementia teams at different times.
During her stay the staff have been consistently amazing, far surpassing any expectations we ever had of nursing home care. It wasn’t just her physical care, but also the emotional support and relationships that the staff provided which made the most of her last years of life. What you do is much more than just a business.
Thank You!
Best wishes,
Matthew & Karen Young

I wanted to write and thank you very much for the wonderful care that my mother received at Claremont Court. Throughout her time with you, you arranged for her to have the most attentive and sympathetically delivered care and she really relaxed and blossomed with the cheerful understanding that she received. The carers delivered such tender loving care that we could not have asked for more.

To you all
We want to thank you all for the care and kindness shown to our beautiful Mim, Doris during her time with you.
She was dreading having to move from her home where she had lived with our late father for 60 years, but she settled into QEP almost immediately. She quickly made new friends (many of them yourselves) and enjoyed a social life busier than she’s had for many years. She even got to meet Elvis!
Choosing a care home for someone you love dearly is a daunting prospect, but we feel we made the right choice.
Thank you all

Throughout the last four years, I have come to know the staff who cared for my mother at Queen Elizabeth Park Care Home very well and I felt compelled to write to you to show you my appreciation. I have been continually impressed by the team across the building – they are a total credit to the Care profession and they cared for my mother with respect and compassion at a time when she needed it the most.
Throughout what was a very difficult time for myself and my family the team continued to put us at ease, offering both reassurance and when required were honest with the reality of her condition – a difficult balance, but they did so with great professionalism. Friends and family who visited Mum would often comment on what a pleasant atmosphere the home provides with such caring, happy and attentive staff.
You have a world class caring team of unsung heroes which gave such great support to my mother and my family.
Thank you
Dan Borgonon

Dear Heather
Just a few words to say how pleased we are as a family with the excellent level of care you and your team provide for our mother Denise.
We have found everyone to be friendly, caring and attentive to mother’s needs. We appreciate how difficult it is to deal with residents with dementia and really appreciate the hard work that you all put in on every level.
Kind regards

Ashbrook Court is an excellent care home. The team couldn’t be more caring. They look after my mother with compassion and love.
The entertainment is varied and age related to the residents. There was a BBQ on Sunday based on a Victorian beach party. I am sure all residents enjoyed it, as we did.
Thank you!

Dear Christine,
I collected my mum from Water Mill House last Sunday after her stay with you for respite and just wanted to thank you and all the staff who cared for her. Everyone was so kind and friendly.
Mum has stayed at another care home in the past for respite but I cannot recall her coming home so happy and content. She has had a lovely time in Water Mill House and I understand from my son, James, who visited his Nanna whilst we were away, the care and kindness mum received was exceptional. James said she was never in her room when he went to visit! She was always chatting to someone either in the lounge, bistro or a resident’s room, and I understand she was known as ‘smiler’ as she was always smiling and happy. That I feel sure is down to your wonderful staff.
Please would you pass on my thanks to all who looked after mum during her visit with you. It was so good to know mum was safe, happy and well cared for.
Thank you once again
With my very kind regards
Laraine

Dear Karen
Firstly, everyone at Honey Lane is amazing” There are some truly special people here for whom my family and I will be forever grateful.
The very first time I came to visit it felt like a ‘home’. When Mum and I came to visit it was like a light had been switched on. She responded so well to Jackie and the smile that lit up her face was a pleasure to see.
She was so content and never looked lonely anymore, which was something she used to complain of often. The care and attention that she received from everybody and the memories that were created here is something that will always stay with me.
I worried I was letting her down, but seeing her so happy was a joy. This was a side to Dolly we hadn’t seen for many years – a new lease of life.
I would like to say a massive ‘thank you’ to you all for making Dolly’s time here such a special one, and for me too, – my gratitude the reassurance, help and understanding to cope with such a difficult time cannot be expressed.
Thank you all so much
Barbara Beech

Dear Monica
I wanted to thank everyone at Acorn Court for their kind and generous care of Josie for the time she was with you. Your leadership clearly has a very positive effect on the care home and we were very impressed with the culture when we came to see Acorn Court in mid-June, which made me confident that my mum would be well looked after in your care, and we recall being very well received that day by the lovely and enthusiastic Ami.
All your staff do an excellent and challenging job and we truly thank them for their care, dilligence, commitment and also their sense of humour.
With very best regards

I am writing to thank you for the excellent care my mother received whilst a resident at Alderwood.
Alderwood had been Mum’s home for nearly 3 years and we have always thought that we were lucky to find such a place.
What attracted us to Alderwood was not just the facilities (which are excellent), it was the friendliness, the fact that Mum could get up when she wanted and go to bed when she wanted and particularly that she was free to spend her time as she pleased. Each day there was always something happening, and between activities/events there was music playing and residents interacting.
It is striking to us that everybody, irrespective of their job, interacts, cares and treats the residents with respect. We believe this is down to Nikki’s and the senior staff’s leadership style – creating a strong team with all the skills needed to ensure a caring and safe environment. One of the carers described working at Alderwood as being part of a family – and looking back, it is this that probably made it so special.
We were always happy with Mum’s care and the care that everyone gave us as a family was “over and above” and very comforting.
So we would like to thank everyone at Alderwood who made it such a special place; we cannot nae one individual as there are so many who were outstanding in their care of Mum and us.
Yours sincerely,
Lianne, Darryl and Jeni Day

Dear Karen and all staff,
On behalf of Margot’s entire family, I would like to express to each and everyone of you our appreciation for looking after our mother and grandmother for the time they have lived at Claremont Court.
Our thanks go equally to those on the front line – the nurses and carers, as well as those behind the scenes – the kitchen and laundry staff, cleaners, and helpers.
Equally important and to whom we also address our gratitude are the ever-willing “fixer” Trevor, hairdresser Kim who helped preservce Margot’s dignity.
Thank you again,
Julie and family.

Dear Heather,
I would first of all thank you for the wonderful flowers you sent. It was a lovely surprise and a very kind thought.
Secondly, I would like to praise Suwan and the 1st floor team for looking after my mother during her time with you. They have showed great professionalism, treating my mother with dignity and compassion throughout her stay. It was good to ahve a team that I could trust and know they would do whatever was necessary to make my mother comfortable. It cannot be an easy job and it takes a certain type of person to do this but you seem to have put together an excellent team. My mother could not have been in better hands during her last days.
Many thanks,
Paul Cheesman

To all the wonderful staff at Alderwood,
We can’t thank you enough for all you have done to Dad since he first arrived there. You made a home for him, where he felt lived and cared for. We couldn’t imagine a better place for him. Thank you for everything that makes Alderwood so special.
Dad used to say “Everyone is so happy here”. You all seem to smile and be cheerful no matter what. Thank you for working around Dad and for your flexibility that let him make choices and preserve his individuality.
You make Alderwood a home and a family. Thank you for all the thought that goes into encouraging your residents to thrive.
Thank you for loving our Dad and taking such good care of him.
Our love and thanks to you all

Dear Rachel,
The Deputy Mayoress and I were delighted to have been invited to the Watermill House Care Home on Thursday 9th June to join in the Queen’s 90th Birthday Celebrations.
We received a lovely warm welcome and were pleased to meet the staff and residents. I know my wife certainly enjoyed reading the Children’s Stories which came from one of the Nash Mills Primary Schools. I would be grateful if you would pass on to the school how impressed we were with the stories that the children had written.
This was a lovely afternoon enjoyed by all with an excellent Afternoon Tea. Thank you once again for your kind invitation.

June 10, 2016
Dear Monica,
On behalf of our family, I am writing to express our thanks and gratitude to you and your team for the care of our mum; Mary Walton.
Mum was at Acorn for just over a year and during that time she received consistently high quality care. It was a difficult decision to move Mum into a care home, but we all feel we couldn’t have found a better one. It was reassuring to know that Mum was receiving all the care and support she needed and in a way that took account of her past, her family, and most importantly, her personality.
We all got to know Acorn and the staff in varying degrees and were all impressed by the friendly, relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. It made our experience easier and visits more enjoyable. Many of the staff were excellent in their care of Mum and their commitment and understanding is very much appreciated.
We all feel however that one member of staff in particular stood out for her exceptional care of Mum and thad is Corrine. She looked after Mum with such kindness and consideration which went over and above the normal call of duty.
Despite the many other demands on Corrine’s time, nothing was every too much trouble. She was attentive and calm and created a happy and relaxed environment. Mum felt safe and secure with Corrine and that was of great comfort to us. Corrine is a very special person and we feel very fortunate that she was part of Mum’s life.
Not only did Corrine provide such wonderful care for Mum, but for us too. My visits to Mum usually ended in tears as I said goodbye in order to return home to Hereford. I found it very difficult and emotional. Corrine was always there for me with a big hug and kind words. We all experienced Corrine’s genuine and compassionate nature and are very grateful. A special thank you therefore to Corrine who is herself a very special person. We won’t ever forget you Corrine.
Finally, a huge thank you to everyone for your hard work and for making Mum’s time with you so comfortable and content. You are all a brilliant team of people who make a real difference to the lives of so many.
With kind regards,
Margaret Walton, and Anne, John, Tom, Stuart, and Alan
June 7, 2016
Hello everyone,
I just wanted to say how much we all appreciated everyone’s input and effort that went in to make Mum’s birthday a very special celebration. The whole day was a huge success and couldn’t have gone any better.
Lauren started the day off by getting Mum up and dressed, which is no mean feat these days, so a big thank you to her from us. When we went into Mum’s room she kept telling us how lovely Lauren is and how much she had done for her, but did she have to go to the Brasserie – couldn’t she just stay in her room!!
Many thanks also to Sarah for coming in on her day off to decorate the Brasserie for us, which looked absolutely beautiful. Mum even commented and everyone agreed how lovely everything was.
Vicky was there when we arrived to help with the last minute arrangements and kept coming in to make sure we didn’t need anything else during the day. She was an absolute star at the end of the day as she said we didn’t have to do any washing up and she would do it the next day! That meant so much to us, as we were exhausted and everyone else had gone home with food parcels!
Thank you so much for organising Jo, the singer for us, Nikki. She was absolutely perfect and certainly made Mum’s day very special. Jo is lovely and a real trouper, as apparently she had a bad throat, which she didn’t mention until the end. She got everybody involved and even the youngsters joined in and had a good time.
I can’t thank everyone enough for all their hard work and enthusiasm, but I really want you all to know how much it is appreciated. I know you all helped so much to make the day a very special memory for Mum.
With love to you all,
Sandy

Dear Heather, Vicky, Carol, Rosamma, and all staff,
I just wanted to formally express my thanks to you and everyone at QEP for the wonderful care that Stan received. I could not have asked for better. The whole atmosphere is one of love andhappiness at the home; the staff are amazing; it is just like everyone is part of a large family. I shall miss you all and the residents too.
Once again, my heart-felt thanks on behalf of myself and the family for all the happiness Stan enjoyed.
With love.
June 2, 2016
Dear Heather and all your wonderful staff on the 2nd floor.
As soon as we walked through the doors of Queen Elizabeth Park, were shown around, I think we knew that when the time came for Daniel to go into permanent care, this is where I wanted him to come.
That was just over 15 months ago and in that time it has become like an extended family. Letting David go into care was the hardest decision I have ever had to make and it took me a long time to come to terms with, but I always knew the love, care, and support shown to Daniel was there for me too when needed.
The staff on the second floor are truly very special people and should wear their carers badge with pride, as I have seen first hand the wonderful work they do, always going the extra mile to make a difference for each and everyone of their residents.
Thank you so much for the beautiful flower arrangement, for all the special events that we were able to enjoy as a couple. It is all these personal touches that make QEP the wonderful caring home it is. I will never forget you all.
God bless and a heartfelt thank you,
Diana

May 6, 2016
To Marek and all the wonderful team of carers who looked after Jim during his time with you.
No words of mine could be adequate to express my great gratitude for all the kindness and expert care which you have shown to Jim throughout his time at Queen Elizabeth Park. I know that there must have been difficult and trying times, but your patience and compassion seemed inexhaustible. Jim and I were made to feel that we were part of a loving family. It was a huge comfort to me to know that Jim was being cared for in such a lovely home. Your support and friendship during these years has meant everything to me. Your sensitivity and understanding over the past months was such a help. You spread a sense of calmness and peacefulness in our lives.
I thank God for the privilege of having known you, and the happy memories I have of each one of you will always remain with me.
Thank you too for all the welcome cups of tea!
Affectionately,

To all the staff,
I am just writing to say thank you for helping to make my visit to see my dear friend Connie, so pleasant. I am now back home having ejoyed 10 days with my daughter. I was prepared to not see Connie again now that I do not drive long distances. It is good that we can still write to each other. I hear all the things which you do and both my daughter and I said how well the home is run.
Thank you for the care you give.
Sincerely,
Monica M. Lilley

Dear Christine,
I am just dropping a line to say a heartfelt thank you to Watermill House for providing my father, John Watson, with such excellent and loving care for the past few months.
Although John had been determined to live in his own home for as long as possible, we all benefited hugely from the difficult decision to move him to Watermill at the end of January.
He may have lost ground physically over the following months but that was going to happen anyway. What he gained however was a wonderful loss of the stress and anger which exhibited itself when he was still at home.
I speak for the whole of my family in saying that we are very impressed by the overall service provided and grateful to the home and all its staff.
Thank you very much,
James Watson

To everyone,
Thank you for looking after Mum for the last year, you made her very happy. You treated her with love, dignity, and respect. Also for being such great friends to me and making me feel at ease, welcome and comfortable when visiting Mum.
I admire you all so much for the work that you do as at times it is not easy. The care, love, and support you gave to Mum and myself was outstanding. Mum was not a resident and we were not visitors. We were part of a family.
Take care everyone.
All my love,

For every aspect of care, every ordinary task done extraordinarily well with love, my heartfelt thanks.
Thank you too for all your support of the family.
With my warmest best wishes and all the best for your own futures,

To all the staff at The Bridge whom helped to take care of the late great Miss Pamela Baycock, we would like to sincerely thank you for making her life joyful and comfortable. She very much enjoyed her time with you and as her family we knew how staying in your wonderful care opened up her world again. We will be eternally thankful to you all for this. She was a wonderful woman, incredibly bright and very determined in life.
Regards from her family.

Dear Heather,
No words could be adequate to express my heartfelt thanks to you and all your wonderful team at QEP. I should be eternally grateful that you made it possible for Jim to spend two years in such a lovely home. You have made me feel part of a loving family. As a daily visitor I have witnessed the professional and constant care which Jim’s condition necessitated but also the unfailing patience and kindness shown when I know that things were not always easy. Also the help which you have given has been such a comfort and has eased my way through difficult days. The arrival of your beaufitul bouquet of flowers was such a surprise for which I thank you most sincerely.
Again my thanks for everything.
Affetionately,
Ruth

Dear Heather and all at QEP,
A thousand apologies for the lateness of writing and thanking you so much for the party, the red wine, and the fantastic glass to drink it in.
I enjoyed coming to QEP immensely over the years – I suspect it might be in my genes as my father was the only geriatrician at Worthing Hospital and claimed to have coined the term ‘costa geriatrica’.
You all do a fantastic job and I know I could be a demanding sod at times.
Many thanks again,
Dr. Franks
P.S. Thanks also for Maltesers – how did you know?

Dear Nikki & all the staff at Alderwood
What a wonderful day you made for Ralph and I to celebrate our Diamond Anniversary with all our family and friends. A beautifully decorated room, excellent food and lovely to see you all there.
My guests were delighted with Alderwood, saying it is the best they had ever seen and so comfortable and friendly.
Again, I would like to thank all the staff for your care and friendship, I count myself very lucky to know you all.
Love,
Shelia

A big big thank you to all the staff who looked after my Mum. She was telling me how he always looks so clean and happy when she came to visit and that the staff were always helpful and that nothing was too much trouble in his time of need.

To Suwar and all the staff on 1st floor at Q.E.P.
I’d just like to say a huge thank-you for the wonderful care you have given to my wife, Sheila, during the two and a half years that she has been with you. Every aspect of her care has been excellent and her opinions were always taken into consideration and acted upon in an appropriate way. She also really enjoyed the regular outings in the minibus to different locations.
You have all been so welcoming and friendly towards me, answering any questions and concerns I had in a most professional and helpful way, and Q.E.P. very much because it was like a second house to me. I would highly recommend this home to anyone.
Regards,
Rob Horsey

We as a family would like to take this opportunity to say thanks to Claremont Court care home staff in their absolute first class care throughout, and in particular the kind and gentle care Mum received at the home.
We have all spoken about the special relationship that the staff had with Mum. Words are simply not enough for us to exres sour gratitude – the ladies and gentlemen that work and help to run Claremont have been nothing less than exceptional and have delivered a level of care with a personal touch that can only be described as extended family.
All of us feel as though Mum couldn’t have received better care – no matter what time of day or what the request, the staff were always accommodating.
We would like to extend our sincerest thanks to all the staff – you are all brilliant.
Kind regards to you all,
The Walters Family

To Dear Nikki and everyone at Alderwood
Last year John told me how happy he was living at Alderwood. I have nothing but admiration and gratitude for the love, care and respect you have shown to him over the years. When I describe Alderwood to other people, I tell them of a big family which everyone feels they belong to, as I do myself which is the mark of the real meaning of ‘home’.
Lots of love

Hi Nikki
I wanted to send a thank you to you all. We really appreciated the care Mum received during her time at Alderwood. It was lovely to see her being so well looked after, cared for and treated as the wonderful, if somewhat fesity, person she was.
You have a wonderful team there, we could not have asked for better. As you know Mum was extremly reluctant to be in any sort of care, but I really don’t know how we would have coped without you.
Thank you all so much for everything you all did for Mum and us.

Dear Christine,
On behalf of our mother, Sonja, her family and myself, I wish to thank you and Water Mill House staff for the car our mother received in her time at your care home.
I am particularly grateful thatyou were able to arrange this room with its sunny aspect and that we were able to arrange the room so that it could become our mother’s home.
As a family, we appreciated the open doors and the continual warm welcome to all the family throughout our mother’s time with you.

To Nikki and all the team,

My Mum has been receiving care at Brooklands and has responded so very well. This is down to the staff and managements outstanding person centred approach. They are kind, patient, and have tailored the care to meet her needs. In a truly difficult time, they have kept me reassured and I leve Brooklands confident my Mum is receiving the best care.
I am truly grateful for all they have done and continue to do.
Sincerely,
Steve

To Nikki and the Staff at Alderwood
Dad was in a bad place when he came to you in May after losing Mum. He had pretty much given up on life.
You all brought him and comfort whilst he was with you. Dad was laughing more, and I know he felt cared for.
It was wonderful for us to know he was happy and well looked after – I can’t thank you enough for making such a difference to Dad’s life the past few months, more than any of us could have hoped for.
Thank you
Lots of Love,

January 22, 2016
Dear Racheal,
As you know, my wife Isobel was a patient at Bramley Court. Throughout her stay she was treated with compassion, and care by all the staff on her floor. I cannot fault the caring atmosphere at Bramley Court and all Isobel’s visitors (who were made welcome by the staff every time) commented on the homely, yet professional attitude they observed throughout the home.
I was also impressed by the way I was welcomed on my daily visits. I had the run of the kitchen during the time Isobel was able to take food by mouth and I was able to help myself to innumerable cups of tea!
I hope that my farewell gift will be used to express my gratitude to all those who made Isobel’s time at Bramley Court as pleasant and pain free as possible. Not once did Isobel have the slightest cause to complain about any aspect of her treatment.
Yours most sincerely,
Geoff Frost

Dear Karen,
I am writing on behalf of my Mother Mary, my Sister Catherine, and my wife Bev to thank you for the care and respect you afforded my father, Normie, in the short time he was a resident with you.
The team at Claremont Court made the whole experience, from the first day I walked through the door to our departure last Sunday, as simple and as welcoming as possible. I know there were many people involved in providing care for Normie but in particular we would like to thank Cecibel, laura and Ramona who, with passion, sensitivity and enthusiasm looked after Normie from the very first day.
They allowed him to maintain his dignity, dressed, and shaved him, ensured he was always comfortable, and when it was required, they patiently encouraged Normie to eat and drink. They kept us fully informed of his progress and let me know as his condition slowly deteriorated. Alongside these fantastic people, the nursing support and guidance provided by Mariana was at all times appropriate and helpful, right up to the very moment of Normie’s last breath. The directness and clarity of Marianas professional advice as well as the way in which she looked after my mother, my sister, and myself belies her youth.
It goes without saying as well that both yourself and Noelia made every visit to Claremont an easy one and your handling of the required administration with Dionne’s help was at all time professional and efficient.
We should also thank your Chef for the outstanding birthday cake!
Kind regards,
Neil Watson

Dear Christine and Anna,
I wanted to email you to convey a family’s sincere thanks for the care that Mum received in her time at Water Mill House.
Following on from a very stressful stay in hospital last year, Mum was able to come to Water Mill House and, once settled, spend her last months being looked after by a lovely team of carers, who became like a family to her. She responded well to the environment and flourished for a while, as much as her underlying conditions would allow. We are very grateful for all that you did to ensure that her time was as comfortable and fulfilling as possible.
Many thanks and with kind regards,
Carole x

Dear June and all the staff at Bridge House
I just wanted to write to you to express my appreciation of everything you all did for my Mum during her time in Brige House.
At the start she was quite poorly following a period when she was unable to cope at home, even with a care package. Upon arrival at Bridge House her health did stabilize and even improve somewhat, so that she was able to regain some of her mobility. Of course it was a big change for her to come to terms with movign from her fla into residential care, but the staff were very attentive and, being one of the first residents, she benefited from everything being new.
Mum appreciated the facilities at Bridge House, in particular the outings and functions. It made her life more interesting. She built up good relationships with many of the staff.
Towards the end of her life, Mum was made very comfortable. It was always a great relief to know that support was available 24/7 and she appreciated the kindness of staff.
Please pass on our thanks to everyone who knew and looked after Mum.
With kind regards,
Neil Summers

My mother-in-law has been in Ashbrook Court for about seven years. My husband and I have always been very happy with the care she receives. The staff are always attentive, caring and friendly. The home is always spotlessly clean and her room is the same. She always looks clean and tidy, her hair is cut regularly and her needs are met constantly. We would have no hesitation in recommending Ashbrook Court as a suitable care home. Thank you so very much
December 3, 2015
Dear Ann
Thank you so much for your time and care in helping to make Mum’s birthday a special day for her.
You are much appreciated.

To June and all the staff at Bridge House,
Jane and I would like to express our sincere thanks for the care you all gave to our mother Joan Baldy.
Although she was only with you for a short tie, the care she received was exemplary and we appreciate all you did for her in your lovely home. All the staff we met during our visits were so friendly and welcoming that we felt like part of your family.
So thank you all once again for making Mum’s last few months comfortable and dignified.

I would just like to thank you all for caring for my lovely Dad, Ron Page.
The decision for him to live in a care home was the hardest we had to make because he was such a private man. But the care and kindness that many of you genuinely gave tohim made his life happier and more comfortable.

Safe, secure and well cared for in pleasant surroundings
We visited several care homes in Chingford before selecting The Spinney as a potential home for my 91 year old mother. As we walked through the door we were impressed by the warm, friendly atmosphere of this comfortable, modern, airy, purpose-built facility. This was in great contrast to other oppressive and depressing homes we had seen.
My mother did not want to leave her own home, but she settled in more rapidly than anticipated and 18 months on she is so pleased to be there looked after by such caring and attentive staff. As for me, I am confident that she is in safe hands and very well cared for at all times.
November 2, 2015
Dear Jean/Heather and all the wonderful caring team at QEP
I remember our first conversation when you told us you wouldn’t be adopting just our Mum, you would be adopting the whole family. In our case it was so true.
We spent many hours at QEP and during this time we got to know the staff nurses and many residents and could see the level of care was first class, even when you were faced with challenging situations.
We thank you all most sincerely from the loving care and friendship you all gave her in the time she was with you.
With much love,
All the family of Trudy Sermon

Dear Karen and all the staff at Claremont Court
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for looking after Dad. It is a comfort to know that his care has been excellent.
Thank you all for taking the time to pop into his room and spend time with him, or for putting some music or television on – all those things that made a big difference to his day.
A very special than you for your kindness from all of us.

Dear Heather and all the lovely staff at QEP Care Home
From our first point of contact with the home in April, all the staff at QEP have been nothing but kind, helpful, thoughtful, considerate and respectful.
What a difference moving our father into QEP made to all our lives. All the staff, whatever their position, were always so kind and caring to Dad and us. We were always treated with the utmost respect.
A big thank you to all of you for making the home such a warm and welcoming place for him, and we really felt that the staff were genuinely fond of Dad.
With love and best wishes,
Alex Brand and Tim Friend

With thanks…
The Spinney’ cares for my mum (and formally my Dad too) with an attentiveness and professionalism that consistently surpasses my expectations. Whilst the food, care provision and quality standards are all at the levels I would expect and demand for my Mum, it is the warmth, patience and little touches of care, such as making time for a chat or a walk to the high street, or helping her to choose an outfit for a trip out with her grandchildren, that is so appreciated, and the reason why both of us view the staff here as an extension of family, rather than providers of service.
Thank you.
October 29, 2015
Dear Anna
From the moment Chloe met my mother at the hospital and did thee assessment we knew we were in good hands. Chloe, Dorothya, Sam, Amy and many others played their caring and compassionate parts in taking care of my mother. Eva on the front desk too for her assistance and help. Chantelle I also recall was so enthusiastic and passionate about Water Mill House and the kind lady who runs the bistro – the list goes on! We wanted to thank you all.
Anna you have something very special at Water Mill House, with wonderful caring and compassionate staff that you have chosen well – I am sure you are very proud of them – please pass our thanks on to them all.
Kind regards
Patrick

October 27, 2015
My sister and I are extremely satisfied and grateful for the care and attention which she receives at The Spinney. Standards and quality of care are excellent across the board. It is the greatest relief to me, as a carer, to know that her care is assured and offered in such a positive atmosphere and so professional. Relationships with the staff are personal and extremely positive and I have total confidence with the management and that my concerns would always be taken seriously.
It is such a hard thing when our loved ones age or get unwell and the kind of care Spinney has offered my sister is exactly what she and I have needed and makes us both feel confident again.
October 26, 2015
As soon as I visited Ashbrook Court I immediately felt my father would be in safe, kind and caring hands. While we waited for a room to become available the Manager visited my father in hospital to introduce herself and on the day he became a resident everyone went out of their way to welcome him, and reassure me. He had been in hospital for 10 weeks, was recently bereaved and confused, and this, plus his deafness and poor eyesight, were all carefully noted and now, several months later, he has settled well and is at home. He has a lovely bright room, with a door into the well maintained and pretty garden. He is so well looked after, but encouraged to be as independent as possible. He is treated with dignity and kindness. We are welcomed as visitors whenever we like, and have got to know many of the staff. Recently we attended an award ceremony at Ashbrook Court, and enjoyed every minute!
We have a strong impression of a really well-led home with a genuine open door policy.
The Manager and the staff who work with her and know my dad, have also been a great support to me – after a horrible year prior to him moving to Ashbrook Court I was also very shaky emotionally. I don’t think they realise how much they’ve done for me by showing me I can totally trust them in their care for my father and frankly I can’t thank them enough.
October 19, 2015
My aunt was admitted here in mid-August. Before admission I was impressed by the caring attitude to me as a carer, by the clean and attractive environment and the smiling friendliness of the staff.
My aunt is a single lady, unused to communal living and the staff have gently introduced her to this by allowing her plenty of time to grow accustomed to it. I am delighted that my aunt is as happy at Ashbrook Court Care Home and impressed by how well the staff know her. I always feel very welcome and am very grateful to the team and all of the staff for their kindness to us both.

To the Staff at Brooklands Care Home

Dear Karen
We would like to just write a short note to say how pleased we are with the accommodation and the care given to Halina by staff at Claremont Court. We are also extremely pleased with the room and facilities she is now enjoying on the top floor.
It has given us great comfort and is a great relief to know that Halina is now being constantly cared for in safe hands. We can clearly see she is already benefitting from your professional care.
With kind regards

How can I begin to say ‘thank you’?
My lovely mum Brenda came into Bramley Court earlier this year to receive end of life care, but after much loving care, she was well enough to leave – amazing!
When she came back into care in February, we both never looked back.
You are all wonderful people; you all have good kind hearts and kind souls – and you all had a special place in Mum’s heart too. I know this because she told me. You weren’t just her carers, you became her close friends, or rather an extension to her family. And you can’t get much better than that.
Thank you all.
With much love,
Brenda and Di

To all the staff at Bridge House
I would like to say thank you to all the staff for the kindness, care and compassion shown to friends, family and most of all my late aunt Audrey. You all do such a great job and all too often it can go unrecognised. Without places like Bridge House and the dedicated and caring staff who work there many would live their final days in a very uncertain way.
Thank you all for your care, compassion and on-going hard work.
Best wishes
John

To everyone at Bridge House
I just would like to say a big ‘thank you’ to everyone for all your help and loving care shown towards my husband John. Also from myself and family, our heartfelt thanks particularly for providing sleeping accommodation at the home so that we could keep close to John.
I would like to add that during all the times I spent with you all it was like a home from home for me. So once again I say THANK YOU.
With love to everyone

To all you wonderful people who lovingly care for all these elderly and sick people.
We wnat to say a very special thank you for all the loving, cheerful, and patient care you have given Brian during these last months of his life, also for the great kindness you have shown to us, his family.

Dear all
It was a difficult decision to move Mum into a care home, but when the time came, Claremont Court was the first and only home that we looked at. She was shown such patience, kindness and concern whilst she was in your care and everyone did their very best for her.
We felt very lucky that Mum was at Claremont Court and that her care was the best we could have hoped for. We can only thank all of you for making a difficult time so much easier.
With heartfelt thanks and kind regards

Last week there was a party at Bramley Court. I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed it. I work in an office opposite and last Friday the usually quiet atmosphere was interrupted by the most amazing music and sounds of people having fun. It was lovely. I opened the windows and sang along (badly) at my desk. What a fab place you are running there! I am looking forward to the next event.

The manager and staff at Alderwood have been exceptionally kind and helpful since our first contact. I am so relieved and glad to see my father welcomed, well cared for and made to feel he matters. When he has had particular care needs, they have supported him and done everything that was necessary for his comfort and well-being. My father isn’t taking full advantage of everything on offer as yet, but I have been impressed with the programme of events and the nice touches like an Easter egg for each resident.
I can’t tell you what a relief it is to have found a home for my father at Alderwood.

To the team at QEP
‘Thank you’ seems quite inadequate, but I wanted to let you know how much I appreciated the care and kindness shown by all to my mother and father during their time at the home.
Your care, kindness and compassion was also extended to myself and family members when we visited. Everyone was made to feel welcome and comfortable; nothing was too much trouble and always a friendly word with a smile.
Please know that you are all appreciated very much.
Love and best wishes to you all,
Linda

My wife has been in Bramley for nearly a year she is 66 years old. Her care has been first class, the staff are excellent and I feel part of the Bramley family. The staff look after my wife very well and care for her in every way. They also worry about me and how I feel and am I looking after myself. I join in any activities they have and now help in any way I can. I would recommend Bramley.
May 30, 2015
My husband was at Bramley Court for five years and the care and kindness shown to him was wonderful.
All the staff were helpful and kind. I saw myself how professional and hard-working everyone was, from the cleaners who keep everywhere spotless to carers who although very busy always make time for every resident. The nurses are so good, very encouraging to residents and making sure they were comfortable – nothing is too much trouble.
The food is good and nutritious, well cooked, and there was always a good choice and the laundry is always lovely and clean. The gardens are attended with great care, with a colourful atmosphere of tranquillity.
The managers and admin staff are always helpful, ready to make life easier especially for the relatives.
Everyone should be very proud of the care they provide.
Very sincerely,
Mrs Doreen Wiseman

Hi Cathy,
I feel I must write this email to say how lovely it is to see that my Dad is being so well looked after. He thoroughly enjoyed his trip to Wroxham and it was so nice to think that he was out and having a nice time. We have been to Wroxham many times with him on a day boat and it was nice for him to see it all again.
My daughter visited him at half term and said he has put on weight. That is so nice to know as he always loved his food! He seems very content and satisfied with everything.
Your staff are amazing and nothing is too much trouble, which is such a huge relief and great reassurance for me living all the way in France.
Have a good day and thank you for taking care of my dad so very well.
Kindest Regards
Sandy

To all the staff at QEP
We want to say at heartfelt thank you for your dedication, care and compassion shown towards Shelia during her time at Queen Elizabeth Park, and for the kindness always shown towards me and my children.
You have helped Shelia at the most difficult time of her life and you managed to bring her some happiness and for that we will be forever grateful. You have become her new extended family and have cared for Shelia in more ways that can be recounted.
The job you all do is so important. On a daily basis you are not only caring for the health of the patients you are also creating their happiness, their reasons to smile, you are making living conditions suitably pleasant and you are forming those connections that patients need and depend on. You are truly amazing people.
Thank you all at Queen Elizabeth Park Care Home, you are the true angels that help to bring joy and alleviate pain particularly for those in the home’s palliative care environment.

I am writing to ask if you could pass on thanks to the staff of Ashbrook Court Care Home, and especially the team led by Dimple Jose for the care and consideration shown to my Aunt Hilda during her time at Ashbrook Court.
Hilda had been at the home for nearly eight years, and some of the staff had cared for her during that entire time got to know Hilda as a character and grew exceptionally fond of her. I would appreciate it if you could let them know that they are heartily thanked, and their work is much appreciated.

To all the staff at Bramley Court,
Thank you all so much from the bottom of my heart for all the love and professional care that you gave to your residents, my dad, Reg Voisey included.
You helped us through a critical time when we were at a loss as to what to do.
Janine and her team gave my Mum, Joy, so much support and we both have learned so much about caring for people with dementia from watching them doing their work with smiles and understanding.
I shall be forever grateful, not only for what you have done for my parents, but also for the way you have done it.
Carolyn Voisey.

My dear friends,
At times like this is is impossible to find adequate words to express ones feelings and emotions.
As you know I have helped Joe for over twenty years. The choice of care home turned out to be one of the best decisions I have ever made. The loving care and attention he has received from you all is beyond measure. The love you have given him is far and above anything he has received in his whole life.
Thank you all so very, very much for all you have done for Joe. It is wonderful for me to know he had a happy and contented time at Claremont Court.
Love and warmest wishes to you all,

February 17, 2015
When a person in Jillian’s position loses the ability to walk after a prolonged stay in hospital and at the same time requires nursing care, realisation of the loss of independence and home is an immense shock to the system, Mum was no exception.
Having been placed under considerable pressure for her to suddenly vacate her bed in the East Surrey, the family were very keen to find a suitable caring and friendly Nursing Home for her to reside. So much is made in the media about poor and in some cases damaging care to residents taht ib ecomes rather an onerous task.
We were therefore so pleased, as was Mum that our next call was to you and your team, the difference could not have been more stark. Your focus was immediately about Mum, her care requirements, and her family. We will never forget your advice taht the family would gain quality time together with Mum if she were residential and this has proved so correct in the three and a half years she was with the Acorn family.
The belonging and security she felt with the other residents, the Acorn tema, medical care, entertainment, days out and other activities, ensured her happiness and well-being during the time she was with you and it was special for us being able to join the activities.
Thank you all,
Janet and Keith Jones

Dear Gina,
I wanted to thank you and your colleages personally for the kindness shown to Mum (Megan) in her nearly six year stay. It would be unfair to name any particular staff member as they were all so wonderful. It is not just the work that you all do but the way that you do it. This ist rue not only of current staff but of those who have worked in Bramley Court during Mum’s stay.
I know Megan appreciated it but so did we. Your kindness even extended to ourselves on our visits.

Please can you thank all the staff at Water Mill House for the care and kindness they have shown my mother and all our family. One again, thank you, and as I drive past Water Mill House many times it will be with fond thoughts of my mother and the time she spent with you.

To all staff at QEP,
I’m writing to thank you for the exceptional standard of care my Granny received at your home. The staff were really comforting, welcoming and explained everything. I would like to thank them for always being so cheerful and welcoming to any family visiting.
It was always reassuring and positive to be able to know that my Granny was in safe hands and being looked after as best as possible. It was also great to know she was probably enjoying herself and taking park in the amazing activities put on by the team, or tucking into her meals (or the something’s in between!). I always fondly remember of all the good times I’ve had visiting the home.
Thank you for everything you have provided for the residents and their families and this care home.

Dear Jean and Heather
I want to say a very big ‘thank you’ for the very best attention Eric received at Queen Elizabeth Park.
From the beginning I knew he was in the right place. I was in his room with his clothes, photos, etc when several members of staff came and introduced themselves and had a chat. On his 100th birthday, a great fuss was made of Eric and a party laid on at which all the family was able to be together. Last November we had a balloon and flowers on the table as we had lunch together to celebrateour 59th wedding anniversary.
I would reccommend Queen Elizabeth park to anyone. The staff could not have been kinder. He was so well treated by everyone with the utmost respect and I cannot praise the staff enough. Eric was always comfortable and contented.

Dear Jean and Heather
I want to say a very big ‘thank you’ for the very best attention Eric received at Queen Elizabeth Park.
From the beginning I knew he was in the right place. I was in his room with his clothes, photos, etc. when several members of staff came and introduced themselves and had a chat. On his 100th birthday, a great fuss was made of Eric and a party laid on at which all the family was able to be together. Last November we had a balloon and flowers on the table as we had lunch together to celebrate our 59th wedding anniversary.
I would recommend Queen Elizabeth Park to anyone. The staff could not have been kinder. He was so well treated by everyone with the utmost respect and I cannot praise the staff enough. Eric was always comfortable and contented.
My grateful thanks, Mae Deverell

Having been here now for some weeks, I feel that I must express my appreciation and sincerest thanks for all the care I continue to receive.
Without exception, all the staff are unfailing, helpful (and cheerful) and make my stay here enjoyable.

A huge thank you to you and all the lovely staff at Alderwood for making Mum’s 90th Birthday such a special day. Everything was amazing and it must have taken so much time and effort to arrange.
The Brasserie looked ready for a great party, the food was fit for a queen, the singing and dancing was such fun, and most of all, Mum was thrilled with the whole day and was really made to feel special.
Thank you for the love and care you give Mum, not just for her birthday, but for every day!

A very big thank you to you and all the staff at QEP for the wonderful Valentine’s celebration last Friday.
You had all put so much thought and effort into every detail from the table settings to the personalised Valentine cards, which were very moving. It was a lovely opportunity to meet other relatives in a very relaxed setting.
The food was superb, and the handmade chocolates were very yummy! We all agreed it was a 5* service.

To the manager and staff at Brooklands Care Home
I would like to pass on my grateful thanks to all your care staff for looking after my sister-in-law Jean Williams with such kindness, care and unlimited patience.
It has been a difficult time for Jean and the family, though it has been made easier for us by your excellent staff; knowing that she has 24 hour care and attention has taken a great weight off our shoulders, for which we have been very grateful.
Thank you is such a small expression, but it is said with much feeling!

I would also like to thank Lee who was with my father on his final journey to the hospital when I could not be, and for this I will be forever grateful.
Finally, I would like to say a special thank you to Dimple who has been a constant since my father came to you in June 2012. Her compassionate nature, understanding and guidance to my family have been invaluable and has ensured peace of mind throughout a very difficult time.

Dear Carebase,
I wanted to write to let you know how grateful all of my family are for the care my father received at Acorn Court.
I was very upset when I first called in at the home, but I will always remember the kindness and patience I received from the start from both Petra and Monica, which was very reassuring.
My family and I were immediately made to feel very welcome, including my two dogs who Dad always loved to see. One of the best things is that we always saw the same care staff, so got to know them all very well.
…I could go on and on!
I am so glad that we were lucky enough to find the home – I only wish that all care homes were like this and had someone as exceptional as Monica running them.
With my very best wishes,
Jan Bell

Ashbrook Court has everything I was looking for in a care home for my husband, Ray. The accommodation and staff are first class.
The carers go out of their way for the residents and have made such a difference to his life. Ray could not be in a better place. I cannot thank them all enough – he is content at last.
Best wishes

Dear June
I would like to thank the staff at Bridge House for the care and attention they gave to my late mother, it was very reassuring for the family to know that she was well looked after – nowhere could have been better. Also we were always made most welcome on our visits and the high quality of the establishment contributed to a pleasant visit – we have been to care homes where you would prefer to leave immediately.
Although Mum had bad days, due to her illness, she did tell me that the staff were very good to her and I think that towards the end she accepted that she could no longer be independent. I guess that when you are 96 changes are more difficult to accept.
Thanks again for all of your efforts, including how the staff kept me informed.
Best regards
Brian

Dear Juliette and Team
I just thought I should put in writing my thanks and appreciation for all the hard work and dedication provided to Rose Gibbs during her 8-year stay at The Spinney.
She moved into The Spinney for one week’s respite care in 2005 and as she was made to feel so welcome and at home she decided she wanted to stay.
From then on the staff became her extended family helping her in any way they could. During my many visits to The Spinney over the years I have only ever experienced the staff giving excellent care to the residents. The professional care and incredible devotion by you and many members of your team during Rose’s stay was exceptionally outstanding – she couldn’t have been in a better place or with more friendly people.
My appreciation extends to all the staff at The Spinney – I only hope that you are all still around if I ever need a care home!
Yours sincerely,
Close friend of Rose Gibbs

My family and I would like to express our thanks to the staff at Ashbrook Court for the care and kindness shown to our much loved mother, Winifred, during her time at the home.
We would personally like to thank in particular the nurse in charge, Dimple, and her colleages Hilma and Nneka. We were frequent visitors to the home and at all times we observed that our mother was shown respect and warmth, and it was in no small way due to the care and encouragement of the staff.
Moving into a care home is often an unsettling time for a resident and family members, however the unfailing efficiency, positive attitude and cheerfulness, along with the never failing kindness, warmth and sensitivity of the staff ensured Mum’s stay at Ashbrook was a positive experience and added greatly to her quality of life.
Thank you,
Mrs Margaret Masri

Dear Monica
Words cannot express the gratitude Roger and I have for all the care, attention and love you showed mum during her stay in Acorn Court. Not only did all the staff take great care of her daily needs, but the fact that each resident is treated according to their individual requirements was very reassuring to know.
The caring atmosphere starts on first entering the home, with the friendly greeting from the staff who were always very helpful. The reception area always looked very bright and decorated differently according to the time of year.
We are so grateful for the understanding and advice you provided us with through the whole process.
Thank you once again to all at Acorn Court,
Roger and Diane Todd

My family and I would like to thank everyone for the special care you and your carers took of my dad.. I would especially like to thank the carers who never altered the standard of care given to my dad.
To put a loved one in a nursing home was a very hard decision. The care that my dad received was such that the hard decision had become a comforting one. I could not place a value on the level of special care he received.
Kindest regards,
