Queen Elizabeth Park care home in Guildford is inviting the local caring community to its ‘Connect Club at Queen Elizabeth Park’.
Connect at Queen Elizabeth Park is a new weekly club that launched recently and takes place every Thursday from 10.30am to 12.30pm, welcoming carers and those they care for to come and enjoy activities for free at the care home. It is a club specifically designed to support the Guildford caring community.
Carers are encouraged to take a couple of hours out of their schedule every Thursday to come along and spend time with other carers over morning tea, coffee and biscuits to relax and enjoy some respite. It is an ideal opportunity for the carers to get advice and swap experiences with each other, as well as asking the Queen Elizabeth Park staff any questions they may have.
The elderly people the carers look after can spend the time enjoying activities organised by Queen Elizabeth Park, which will allow them to connect with other people, have some fun and enjoy a change of scenery. The activities will include flower arranging, gardening, cinema club, hair and beauty sessions, and lots more.
Queen Elizabeth Park is keen to welcome more local carers into its home to help them, and those they care for, fill their time with something enjoyable for both.
June Maharaj, Queen Elizabeth Park Care Home Manager says: “We are very keen to spread the word and offer more local carers some respite every week. The Connect Club is free to attend and we welcome the Guildford caring community to enjoy a fun couple of hours with us. We are really keen to become a stable part of the local community and help those that help others so much.”
