With an air of anticipation and hope for the year ahead, the first of two doses was administered by our health partners from the local community to excited residents and team members in January.

Speaking of receiving her immunisation jab, our resident Freda says: “It feels good to get the vaccine. If it’s going to save lives, it’s the best thing that could happen!”

Resident Joan told us: “I’m happy I’ve had the vaccine as it will help protect our home and keep everyone safe.”

Similarly reassured, QEP’s Home Manager Heather de Ninis said: “We are proud to be part of the national vaccine programme and play our part in protecting not only our residents but also our community. There is finally light at the end of this long tunnel.”

As we work with our health partners to roll out the second dose of the vaccine, we continue with the stringent upkeep of our enhanced safety measures that have been in place over the past year. This includes regular testing for team members and residents, high-quality PPE worn at all times by all members of our team, enhanced cleaning schedules, and regular reviews of our approach to ensure we remain at the forefront of the fight against Covid-19.
