Local Carer Awarded ‘Heart of Gold’ zoom

Craig Hockham a Team Leader at Claremont Care Home has won a Heart of Gold Award at a ceremony at the home in Guildford today, Tuesday September 22nd.  Craig has worked at Claremont Court for 17 months.

The Awards seek to recognise employees for their dedication and commitment in providing high quality care and compassion to all the home’s residents.

Karen Byres, manager of Claremont Court said: “Those who have been nominated do not just do their jobs, they consistently demonstrate compassion and dedication to make our residents lives better each and every day.

“Craig is one of our team leaders and he richly deserves this special award. He is a gentle and compassionate person and very kind to all. Welcoming and cheerful he is a real asset to the home.”

Craig was presented with an etched glass plaque to commemorate his success and an Armani watch by Alnur Dhanani, Chairman of Carebase, the company that owns Claremont Court. Nominations for the award came from residents and their relatives, co-workers, social workers and local health professionals.

Craig said: “I am surprised and delighted to be recognised in this way.  We are such a great team here at Claremont – we all work so hard to make sure our residents have a better quality of life.  Thank you to everyone at Claremont Court and most of all our wonderful residents”.

Altogether there were 31 nominees for the award at Claremont Court and all nominees received a Heart of Gold lapel pin
