Claremont Court care home welcomed a new visitor last week.
Cheddar, an 18-month-old pony, came to the home to visit all the residents and proved to be a real hit with everyone. The pony is house trained and came with a member of staff from Pony Pals, a company that specialises in bringing ponies to visit care homes and schools to encourage petting, interaction and learning.
The residents loved petting the friendly pony and are looking forward to more visits in the future. Claremont Court wanted to invite Cheddar to the home as petting animals is great therapy, especially for residents living with dementia.
