Alderwood care home celebrated a very special birthday on Sunday 23rd June.
Peggy Byford was 101 years old and enjoyed a wonderful day of celebrations at Alderwood care home. The home had organised a superb afternoon tea and some great entertainment that gave Peggy a great day to remember.
The Mayor of Colchester, Cllr Colin Sykes, popped by to wish Peggy a happy birthday and to enjoy the afternoon tea with her. Peggy was also joined by family and friends, as well as the other residents and staff.
Matthew Cox, Alderwood Care Home Manager, says: “Peggy is a wonderful resident and we all had a fabulous time celebrating her birthday. One hundred and one is a real milestone and we made sure she enjoyed her birthday celebrations. It was a real treat for the Mayor to visit and we thank him for taking the time to make her birthday so special.”
