To everyone’s delight, we were able to arrange with the family to hold a socially-distanced Blessing Ceremony in our tranquil garden.
Father Sean, a longstanding friend of the family led the service and blessed the happy couple and their rings in front of the delighted grandparents. Michael and Rita said: “The event couldn’t have gone better and we were thrilled that all our new friends at The Spinney and all the wonderful team were so involved and were there to share it with us.”
Our team did a brilliant job of decorating the pathway to the garden, the decking area, and the gazebo with wedding banners and balloons. Tables were laid out, suitably distanced, with champagne glasses and cupcakes with wedding toppers for the guests to enjoy. With the warm and sunny weather, many residents joined Michael and Rita in the gardens to enjoy the ceremony with others viewing from windows.
Michael and Rita’s son John said: “This really did show the levels you guys at the Spinney will go to in supporting the residents and their families. So, a massive thank you from the whole family. We really do appreciate it.”
Having postponed their honeymoon to attend the ceremony, the happy couple left to collect their Campervan and start their honeymoon travelling around England.
