The giant card features individual photos with the message: “To her Majesty the Queen, happy birthday, we hope you have a wonderful day. Love from the residents at Heathfield Court Care Home.”

Grace Ellis (86) said: “We all felt it was such a shame that her Majesty can’t celebrate her official birthday with the full royal pomp of Trooping the Colour for the second year in a row.  So, all of us have ‘trooped’ out for her instead!”

Jean Stocker (91) said: “I worked for Garrards, the jewellers, and remember a Mr Summers who cleaned the Queen’s jewellery. I have some lovely memories of my working days there. I would love to wish the Queen a very happy birthday and a ‘mirabilis’ year with many more to come!”

Home manager, Gina Kitchenham, said: “Our residents really got behind this project with everyone reminiscing and sharing their memories of the Queen.  And they are so excited to be able to send the Queen their good wishes ‘in person’, as a lasting memento.”
