Heathfield Court marks 5th Anniversary with charity donation

Heathfield Court marks 5th Anniversary with charity donation zoom

We celebrated our 5th Anniversary this week, with a 1950s themed party for our residents and guests from the community – with whom we have built strong ties over the last five years.

Central to the event was the presentation of a cheque for £949.00 to our charity partner, Crossroads Care SE.  The donation was raised from raffles run over the past two years.

Home manager, Gina Kitchenham said: “It was a great pleasure for our residents and team to be able to mark the 5th Anniversary of the opening of Heathfield Court with this donation to our favourite local charity.  And it was lovely that so many from Crossroads and our local community turned out to celebrate the day with us – we all had a really lovely time.”

The cheque was received by Crossroads Care CEO Darren Tobin.  He said: “Crossroad Care SE has had strong links with Heathfield Court for the last 3 years where we have attended several events, notably the recent Christmas turning on of the lights where it was great to catch up with the team, residents, and their families. The donation from Heathfield Court will support the charity to continue its work to provide unpaid carers and older people in our communities with much needed respite to have some time out to themselves and do things most of us take for granted.”

One resident joining in the celebrations was Mary McGrath who, thanks to the rehabilitation care provided by the team, is returning to her Erith home this week to live with her husband after two years at Heathfield Court following a stroke. Mary’s husband, PJ said: “I’m so happy that we found such a wonderful care home who have kept my wife safe throughout the pandemic.”
