Our team organised a wonderful afternoon of celebrations, including a socially-distanced visit from Doreen’s family and a special birthday tea with violinist Jessica, who serenaded the birthday girl with her favourite tunes.
Doreen’s daughter, Denise tells us: “She is a wonderful mother and a very loving grandmother who has reached the great age of 100 with an amazing attitude towards life.”
Home manager, Gina Kitchenham adds: “Doreen is such a lovely lady. She moved into Heathfield Court at the great age of 98 and now we are celebrating her 100th birthday! What an amazing achievement for a very strong and determined “young” woman.”
Doreen who has lived her whole life in the local area puts her longevity down to her genes – her father lived till nearly 102 – was also thrilled to receive a hundred birthday cards from friends and family all over the country. As well as one very special card from Her Majesty The Queen, which she says she will always treasure.
