Kiera Shannon, a care assistant from Ilford won a Heart of Gold Award at a ceremony at 1 Sewardstone Close care home in Waltham Abbey, on 15th November 2017.
The Awards seek to recognise team members for their dedication and commitment in providing high quality care and compassion to all the home’s residents.
Marie Goodwin, manager of 1 Sewardstone Close said: “Kiera is a very deserving winner of our heart gold this year. Kiera is a well-loved member of our team at 1SC, she is attentive to our resident’s needs, caring and compassionate, and she is always going above and beyond to help her colleagues ”.
Kiera was presented with a Tiffany necklace to commemorate her success by Rahim Dhanani, executive director of Enable Care, the company that owns 1 Sewardstone Close.
Nominations for the award came from residents and their relatives, co-workers, social workers and local health professionals. Kiera was then chosen from the list of nominations by a panel of previous Heart of Gold award winners from all the other homes in ISC’s group.
Kiera said: “I am overwhelmed to be nominated this year’s Heart of Gold at 1 Sewardstone Close. I love my job, the residents and our team. Thank you for all your support to help me to do my job”.
Altogether there were 36 nominees for the award at ISC and all nominees received a Heart of Gold lapel pin.
