“We are all so proud to be recognised as Outstanding by Headway, as this is a very rare achievement. My wonderful team always strives to deliver the very best care to help our residents achieve their goals and this achievement is testament to their hardwork,” says Marie Goodwin, manager here at 1 Sewardstone Road in Waltham Abbey.
Headway’s report highlighted that our person-centred approach is strong with highly individualised support plans. The residents they spoke with talked about being able to choose activities they liked, and even mentioned writing poetry. They were also impressed that each resident’s room is individually decorated and furnished to their personal preference and that relationships with family are maintained and developed, including visits home for seasonal celebrations.
Lynne Hensor, Headway’s Approved Provider Manager adds: “The Sewardstone Close team are very motivated and have shown great commitment to developing the skills of their team to enable them to effectively support the complex needs of service users with acquired brain injury. They should be proud of their achievement.”
Headway is a UK-wide charity that works to improve life after brain injury. It has developed and runs the Approved Provider scheme. The award lasts two years.
