Julie Page, a senior carer at Brooklands has won a Heart of Gold Award at a ceremony on 28th November 2016. Julie has worked at the care home for three years.

The Awards seek to recognise employees for their dedication and commitment in providing high quality care and compassion to all the home’s residents.

Cathy Charley, manager of Brooklands said, “Julie is a wonderful and natural carer as well as a brilliant leader. She has the ability to gain the confidence of the team, her residents and families, offering support as needed. Julie truly has a Heart of Gold”.

Julie was presented with a Tiffany necklace to commemorate her success by Alnur Dhanani, Chairman of Carebase.

Nominations for the award came from residents and their relatives, co-workers, social workers and local health professionals. Julie was chosen from the list of nominations by a panel of previous Heart of Gold award winners from all the other homes in Brooklands group.

Julie said, “I am overwhelmed to be nominated this year’s Heart of Gold Ambassador. It is such an incredible team here at Brooklands who all support each other to make sure our residents are well cared for. Thank you to everyone for their kind words about me”.

Altogether there were 42 nominees for the award at Brooklands and all nominees received a Heart of Gold lapel pin.
