Our much-cherished residents here at Bramley Court have received so many letters and gifts from local children and relatives alike to let them know that, even though they are apart, they are not alone. It brought so much joy to us all when we received a letter from our Little Bramley’s who usually visit us, to tell us how much they were missing us.

Our friends at the Fitzwilliam Museum have been a huge source of inspiration and support during these last few months. Not only have they made bespoke online videos of their art talks for us to watch, but they have sent prints and discussion materials to enable us to continue out much-loved Art history sessions. They also kindly sent us lots of craft materials so that residents could make cards to send to their loved ones. What a wonderful partnership this is!

As well as these artistic gifts, Lois made a stunning patchwork quilt for Maureen which she loved, and our nurses received beautiful orchids to celebrate National Nurses Day.

And we were all overjoyed when our very own central office sent over treats for our carers and resident; one day it was an ice cream van, the next it was a surprise batch of lollipops and snow cones. We were even sent sensory packs of oils and creams designed to trigger beautiful memories. Such simple gestures to let us know we are, as ever, in their hearts and minds – they were greatly appreciated and went down a treat.

It has been these gestures, from local friends and companies alike, as well as letters of encouragement, that have truly touched us; the effort the community has gone to, to stay connected and let our residents know they are still a much-loved part of this neighbourhood, has strengthened our bond even tighter than ever.
