Janyce, Sylvia and Eileen successfully abseiled 80 metres down the Arcelor Mittal Orbit in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park on 3rd October 2020.
Janyce said: “The Alzheimer’s Society does such amazing work and it is very dear to our hearts as we care for many residents living with dementia. We are so proud to have done this. I was petrified beforehand and really worried I would freeze at the top and not be able to jump off. But we did it and together we hope to raise over £1,000 for the charity.”
Josh Burrows the grandson of our resident, Betty Foulger joined our team at the event for moral support.
The daring trio were cheered on by everyone at Ashbrook Court, who tuned in via video link. Resident Marion Golding said: “I was worried about them and so glad they are fine and hopefully will raise lots of money.”
